Influencer Sophie Cachia is officially in a long-distance engagement after her WNBL star fiancée Maddie Garrick moved to Italy for work.
Maddie, 30, relocated to Florence last month after signing with local basketball club Polisportiva A.Galli Basket, leaving Sophie back in Melbourne with her two kids, daughter Florence, five, and son Bobby, eight.
Ahead of Maddie's departure, Sophie, 32, shared a heartfelt Instagram post insisting their new long-distance romance was a stroke of fate.
'When I named my daughter Florence, it was because it's my favourite city in the world. With our strong beliefs on how the universe works in this magical world, you now moving to Florence further cements the fact that you always were, part of my story,' she wrote.
'My children find a comfort and trust in you that makes me certain I've done something right in life - and that… is you. Sad, of course. But so excited for you to fulfil a lifetime dream of yours,' the sleepwear entrepreneur added.
Sophie ended her post with a bittersweet message about how much Maddie will be missed by her family.
'Even when you weren't with us Mads, you were always with us, and that won't change in this tiny blimp in the rest of our lives. Bobby & Floss will keep your side of the bed warm. We will all see you soon mia bella xx.'
Maddie's departure also came just days before Sophie celebrated her 32nd birthday.
Documenting the milestone on Instagram, Sophie shared a photo of herself posing next to a birthday cake with her kids.
The mummy blogger accompanied this with a heartbreaking caption about feeling lonely, before revealing that Maddie had sent her a surprise birthday cake.
'I was quite knocked around with how much my heart hurt today by not having my twin flame here for my birthday,' Sophie began, adding: 'But a surprise cake arrival from her and all the snuggles in the world from my favourite humans helped take the edge off,' she wrote.
Maddie also penned a birthday tribute to her wife-to-be, uploading a gallery of footage showing the women looking amorous on Instagram.
'I miss you so much and am sad I can't be there to celebrate the wonderful person that you are, but no matter the distance, I love you so much!' the athlete wrote, in part.
Maddie has also been sharing glimpses of her idyllic new lifestyle in Italy via Instagram.
Her first photo abroad showed the blonde hanging up laundry inside her chic new apartment.
'Beep beep MFs, nonna has arrived,' she joked in the caption.
Sophie proposed to Maddie in March by presenting her with a huge ring encrusted with three diamonds.
The Australian Survivor star was previously married to AFL star Jaryd Cachia, which ended before she began dating women.
'I had a beautiful man in my life, I still do. He's an incredible father and an incredible friend to me but why can't women seek more?' she said during a candid interview with the No Filter podcast in July 2020.
'That married life I realised wasn't what I wanted. And it wasn't that I realised, 'Oh I like women now, I'm going to leave my marriage', it wasn't that. I realised I wanted more.'
