New Girls actress Zoe Lister-Jones has thrown in the towel on her marriage and is set to divorce her director husband Daryl Wein.
The 40-year-old TV star tied-the-knot with 38-year-old Daryl back in 2013 - with the pair previously discussing that they had an ‘open marriage’.
But now it seems the duo won’t be continuing their love story together, having split last year and now proceeding to seek an official divorce.
And while the pair have been married for nine years, their divorce will mark the end of a relationship that lasted for 17 years in total.
TMZ reports: “Zoe is citing the usual irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.”
While papers seen by the outlet allegedly mark 1 Februrary 2021 as the official date of their separation.
The report goes on to suggest that Zoe is battling to keep an even split following the collapse of the marriage.
It is noted that the couple didn’t have any children together, but that: “she wants to end the court's ability to award spousal support.”
And the TMZ report adds: “As for their property, Zoe is asking the judge to keep things simple and confirm the judgment for legal separation filed back in May 2021.”
Last year Zoe opened up about the fact that she and Daryl had an open marriage - and detailed her struggle to process it.
She told the WTF Podcast in September last year: “I will say that the integration of when your partner comes back from f**king someone else and into the home, that is a tough day.
“I always had a tough time with it. It never got easier … I think it’s hard to shift the programming even for hard-core veteran polyamorists. It’s impossible not to be jealous or possessive.”
She added that she and Daryl had been “in and out of an open relationship” and highlighted that she had been raised to be aware of the “ideology” of polyamorous relationships.
Zoe also explained that she felt her relationship and marriage to Darly had been a success despite the fact it ended in divorce.
Zoe had a recurring role in the hit sitcom New Girl - which starred Zooey Deschanel - where she played a character called Fawn Moscato, and she also had roles in the comedy show Whitney and the sitcom Life in Pieces.
Daryl has directed a number of projects including the film How It Ends, starring his soon-to-be ex-wife, and the upcoming film Something From Tiffany’s - the first film to be made by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company and due for release via Amazon in December.
