Amit Elor makes US wrestling history with gold medal match at 2022 Senior World Championships

Amit Elor turned into the most youthful American grappler to come out on top for a Senior Big showdown last month in the wake of winning gold at the 2022 Senior Big showdowns in Belgrade as Group USA completed second in general, tying a group best of seven decorations.

Elor, 18, turned into the most youthful U.S. competitor to bring home a Senior Big showdown with a triumph in the free-form (72 kg) rivalry north of 2021 silver medalist Zhamila Bakbergenova on Sept. 15, as indicated by USA Wrestling.

"I'm still in shock," Elor said after the match, through USA Today. "It's incredible. It's setting the new norm for young ladies more youthful than me. It's tied in with being a motivation for other people."

"All the preparation I'm doing, it's great and it's working," Elor proceeded. "This has been my fantasy since I was a young lady. This is the thing I need more than anything in the entire world. I consider it each and every day."

Elor's triumph beat the past record held by Kyle Snyder, who acquired his title in men's free-form in 2015 at 19 years old.

"There's something else to achieve," Elor expressed, as per the power source. "My main dream is to be an Olympic boss, however there's big showdowns each and every year, and every year is another year and an opportunity to demonstrate that you're number one. That's what I love."

Belgrade denoted Elor's most memorable Senior Big showdowns. As indicated by USA Wrestling, Group USA wrapped up with seven decorations - tying a group best of matches won by a senior group. They recently procured seven awards in 2003 and 2021
