Model Christina Ashten Gourkani, famous for looking like Kim Kardashian, passed away at the age of 34, her family announced.
Gourkani's family revealed in a GoFundMe campaign that the content creator passed away on April 20 following a heart arrest.
According to a statement released by her family on Tuesday, "Ashten is dying...Ashten is dying in the early morning hours at roughly 4:31am on 4/20/2023. Our family received a heartbreaking phone call from a family member who was frantically shouting and sobbing uncontrollably on the other end of the line. A phone call that "immediately tore our world apart and will haunt our family for the rest of our lives"
The model's family also stated that the heart arrest occurred as a result of a "medical procedure that took a turn for the worse," which is currently under investigation.
According to the Mayo Clinic, cardiac arrest is the sudden cessation of heart function brought on by an issue with the heart's electrical system. This prevents blood from flowing through the body and interferes with the heart's ability to pump.
If the right procedures aren't done right away, it can frequently be fatal. Prior to the arrival of emergency medical aid, CPR can increase the likelihood of survival. According to the American Heart Association, more than 356,000 cardiac arrests take place outside of hospitals in the United States each year.
Gourkani's family is currently collecting funds to pay for her medical bills and burial expenses; as of Wednesday, they had raised more than $4,000. Gourkani "will forever be our guardian angel," they declared, adding that they are "grateful" for the support they have received.
"If you knew Ashten, you would know that she cared about everyone. She was such a kind and giving free spirit who never failed to make the people she came into contact with smile, according to the statement. She was the kind of person who would approach little children on their level and spoke to them. She also looked for the lonely person in the corner and made them feel special since she has a rare talent for making connections with people.
Her relatives stated, "On numerous instances I've witnessed her transform her enemies into lifelong friends just after 10 seconds of pouring her charismatic delight, wonderful energy, and her gorgeous smile that she offered to those around her. "To those she has left behind and those who are around her, Ashten's spirit is a light that will forever carry on."
