Cara Delevingne paid tribute to her longtime friend Karl Lagerfeld on the red carpet of the 2023 Met Gala.
The 2023 Met Gala honoured the late designer, and as a close friend and muse of his, the model, 30, could not miss this unique tribute.
To pay tribute to Lagerfeld, the Only Murders in the Building star wore a redesigned white button-up shirt, a renowned favourite of the designer, with dramatic sleeves and a plunging neckline. Delevingne accessorised her shirt-dress with thigh-high black leather leg warmers, black strappy shoes, and matching fingerless black leather gloves, all of which are signatures of Lagerfeld.
Delevingne's hair and makeup were dramatic, with heavy black winged eyeliner, a nude lip, and steel grey shag-style hair.
"Honestly, I cried on the way here a little bit," the model admitted to Vogue on the red carpet. "It's a wonderful thing to be able to do this, and he's such an incredible person." Not only in terms of fashion, but also as a friend. I owe him so lot, and this is a wonderful way to remember him."
Last year's Met Gala saw the supermodel wearing gold body paint and matching pasties beneath a crimson scarlet Dior Haute Couture suit and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
Delevingne made a statement at the 2021 Gala with her Dior Haute Couture white slacks and matching breastplate, which she paired with white Dior heels. Her breastplate was emblazoned with the phrase "Peg the Patriarchy."
For the past few months, the model-turned-actress has been slaying red carpets. She most recently dazzled on the red carpet at the 2023 Oscars in a bold crimson Elie Saab gown and Bulgari jewellery. Her one-shoulder dress had a thigh-high split that showed off her Stuart Weitzman platform heels.
Delevingne glammed it up with a sparkly eye and rose lip, and wore her hair back off her face for a sleek finish.
Delevingne got ready for her big night with hairstylist Danielle Priano and makeup artist Hung Vanngo, who styled her. Vanngo awakened up the model and actress's eyes with NakedBeauty MD Damask Rose Revitalising Gold-Infused Hydrogel Eye Masks, which hydrate and plump — the ideal start to a gorgeous night and the foundation for Delevingne's makeup look.
She also looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2023 SAG Awards.
The model-actress stunned in a long-sleeve Carolina Herrera jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and giant rosette appliqués for her red carpet debut. The designer garment, which was taken from the label's recently announced Fall/Winter 2023 collection, also featured a dramatic overskirt, which the celebrity flaunted on the red carpet.
Delevingne completed her appearance with black satin Casadei platform sandals and De Beers diamonds (the necklace alone weighed 74.73 carats!).
"So excited to be attending my first @sagawards tonight as part of the nominated cast of @onlymurdershulu!!" she wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of her outfit.
She also took to Instagram Stories before of the event to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her beauty prep, which included a luxurious facial with Dior Beauty and celebrity esthetician Sarah Akram. Her look was completed by bold brows and a vivid red lip.
