The Academy Award-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once actor, 60, walked the 2023 carpet in a tuxedo-style ball gown and stunning jewellery on Monday night.
Her elegant gown featured numerous intricate details, including an under layer with a button-up silhouette, portrait collared neckline, and billowy organza sleeves. Her skirt was actually a long belted train that was secured over a white one-piece.
Platform leather boots with a buckle detail finished off the look.
The actress, known for her classic beauty, kept her hair and makeup modest, going for a low-hung bun, subtly smudged wing, and a glossy light pink lip.
Yeoh's comeback to the high-profile event, this year themed "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" in honour of the namesake late fashion designer's awe-inspiring 60-year career, comes only one year after her previous.
She stunned in a sea-green Prabal Garung mermaid gown with a show-stopping cape in May. A stunning Tasaki necklace matched the dress's off-the-shoulder style, while Mimi So diamonds gave extra sparkle.
That year, she wore her long hair down and picked a bold red lipstick to complement the plain hairstyle.
Yeoh has dominated award season since the debut of the A24 film last year, collecting nominations and victories for her portrayal as Evelyn Quan Wang.
And Yeoh is unstoppable. She will appear in the film adaptation of Wicked (due out in 2024), as well as the upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese (due out on May 24), alongside EEAO co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu.
"A lot of actresses discover that as the numbers increase, the roles begin to dwindle," she told HotGossipNewz in its March cover story. "I'm very proud that we've been breaking away from stereotypes over the last few years — it's not just lip service." It is taking place. And it's occurring to me right now."
Along the way, Yeoh has been curating a roster of show-stopping red carpet ensembles, which she takes very seriously.
"I've learned that fans crave the red carpet moment," she explained. "I think that's part of what we do, because we created this magical movie or world for them, and this is an extension of that." And to be shown these amazing — almost like art — designers to begin with, and then all the haute couture."
She's also discovered what doesn't: "At the end of the day, I know who I am." You can't allow the outfit wear you down and wander around moaning, "I'm so uncomfortable." I'm having trouble breathing.' And you are expected to sit there for three hours and you're thinking, 'I'm going to die. And I can't use the loo.'"
