Married at First Sight is making series history this season as five couples enter but only four walk away married.
In debut of the season 17 trailer, the blushing brides-to-be are feeling the anxiety as they get ready to walk down the aisle and meet their grooms for the first time.
“I’m getting married to a rando,” bride Emily says after a shot of her growing emotional looking at herself in a wedding dress for the first time is shown.
“What did I get myself into?” she then asks, as a man is heard saying, “If you don’t want to do this, we’ll get you out of here.”
Wedding bells start to ring as a voiceover says, “For the first time in Married at First Sight history, five brides go to the altar but only four come out married.”
The other ladies tear up as they choose their dresses, though inner monologues give insight into the reality of marrying a person they’ve never met.
“I don’t think I can do this,” another bride admits as the camera follows her leaving her dressing room. “I don’t want to marry a stranger.”
Groom Cameron then fixes the bowtie on his suit while Michael tells the cameras, “It’s a failure.”
“Who will be the jilted groom?” a narrator teases.
In addition to the dramatic trailer, the season 17 cast for the first time. The couples include Emily and Brennan, Clare and Cameron, Becca and Austin, Lauren and Orion and Michael, though his mystery bride is not named.
As MAFS fans know, the series — produced by Kinetic Content — will follow each couple as they tie the knot, head out on a honeymoon and move in together. This season, the couples will try different activities together to bond, including rock climbing, a NSFW Planetarium class, mezcal tasting, an aura reading, and more.
