Morning arrived and Sam Jeffries still hadn’t pooped, so the medic advised her to leave Bachelor in Paradise.
“He actually thinks that I should go home, so I will be leaving Paradise,” Sam, 27, informed her castmates on Thursday’s episode.
Sam chatted with her connection Aaron Schwartzman before she departed.
“You have been such a special person. I will never forget our time that we shared,” she said to Aaron. “I’ve had so much fun getting to meet you and hang out with you.”
Aaron S., 34, found it “so sad” that Sam had to leave.
“You and I connected on a really amazing, emotional basis,” he said.
ENTANGLEMENTS UNDERWAY
Meanwhile, Peter Cappio felt like his connection with Olivia Lewis had been growing — until new arrival John Henry Spurlock from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette showed up.
John Henry, 31, entered with a date card and pulled Olivia, 24, Kat Izzo and Kylee Russell to chat before deciding to ask out Olivia. She tentatively said “yes,” but wanted to touch base with Peter, 33, first.
“Be selfish,” Peter advised Olivia. “What do you want to do?”
That led Olivia to ultimately accept the date with John Henry. Olivia and John Henry showed up to a couples’ spa day and the employees asked the reality stars to remove their clothes and take a seat on the bed. When Olivia joined John Henry on the bed, they broke it.
“This is a bad start,” Olivia said.
Olivia and John Henry quickly put the incident behind them and Olivia proceeded to climb up on John Henry while he laid on his stomach to give him a massage.
“This feels so good I can’t even talk right now,” John Henry said.
They continued the date on the beach, where they sipped champagne. “So you’re into this so far?” John Henry asked Olivia, who confirmed she was, in fact, into him.
John Henry and Olivia jumped into the pool and made out to end the date. When they returned to the beach, Olivia felt torn between Olivia and Peter. She even kissed Peter in John Henry’s line of vision.
“I want John Henry and I want Peter,” Olivia said in an on-camera interview.
Eliza Isichei found herself deciding between two men, too, after John Bureshe from Charity’s season asked her out on a date.
“I don’t want you to go on the date at all,” Aaron Bryant said to Eliza, 27.
But Eliza thought she owed it to herself to go.
“I feel like last time maybe I didn’t do it the right way,” she said to Aaron, referring to being in another love triangle the previous summer. “Like, I was just very closed off I came down and like have only had eyes for you so far with everyone being here. And that you did kind of have your opportunity to explore your options a little bit whereas, I don’t feel like I’ve have that yet.”
So John B., 27, and Eliza shared a kiss over drinks and danced to a mariachi band.
“Hopefully this is just platonic at the end of it,” Aaron B. said to the camera of Eliza and John B.’s connection.
UNBOXING THE TRUTH
Sean McLaughlin wanted to get out of the friend zone with Jess Girod, so he asked her where her relationship stood with Blake Moynes.
“I think both of us are on the same page about being open if we feel like there is a connection we want to explore,” Jess, 24, told Sean, 26.
But Jess made it clear that she didn’t want to explore a connection with Sean.
“You’re still open to exploring things, just not with me, I guess, at this point,” Sean said to Jess.
Jess confirmed that to be true. “I don’t know if I would like get to that point,” she admitted to Sean.
It got back to Sean’s previous connection Rachel Recchia that he wanted to pursue a relationship with Jess because Brayden Bowers talked to Rachel, 27, and told her as much. Brayden, 24, claimed that Sean held back on moving forward with Jess because he thought Rachel liked him a lot.
Rachel did not like hearing that and confronted Sean.
“You have been telling people that you want to pursue Jess, but you just think that I really like you so you weren’t,” Rachel said to Sean, adding, “Do I deserve that?”
Knowing that Jess didn’t see him in a romantic way, he tried to salvage things with Rachel.
“At this point, I want to keep talking to you, and I’m not going to continue to pursue Jess because we were talking and we weren’t communicating effectively,” Sean said.
But Rachel didn’t want to continue seeing Sean, and that made Sean upset with Brayden.
“I believe in some sort of bro code,” Sean said to Brayden. “I consider you a bro.”
Brayden said he didn’t want Rachel to be “strung along” by Sean, hence why he spoke to her. “The fact that he would do that is just very hurtful,” Sean said.
COCKY AT THE COCKTAIL PARTY
At the beginning of the cocktail party, host Jesse Palmer gave an update on Sam’s situation.
“Sam has not pooped yet,” Jesse, 45, informed the singles.
From there, bartender Wells Adams introduced the Paradise Truth Box, where the cast could anonymously submit their thoughts.
When Wells, 39, read a few, they consisted of recommendations that Brayden and Rachel should make out and suggestions that “Tanner should watch out for Kat.”
Brayden pulled Rachel and told her they should “give the people what they want,” so they kissed.
Meanwhile, Kat, 26, did not like how the notes in the box characterized her, so she spoke to Tanner, 30. Tanner said Brayden did warn him about her, making him wonder, “Should I be cautious?”
After an unproductive conversation with Aaron S., in which he backed Brayden, an irate Kat shouted at the cameras, “I could give a f — — what the weird men on this beach think of me.”
Bachelor in Paradise airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
