Jessel Taank and Jenna Lyons are getting some action on The Real Housewives of New York City.
On Sunday’s episode of the Bravo show, Jessel’s husband, Pavit, revealed he had scheduled a romantic staycation for the couple to have a night away from the kids in light of their 18-month sex drought.
Meanwhile in the West Village, Jenna recruited Brynn Whitfield as her wingwoman and met up at a gay bar to meet fellow single ladies.
“I’m actually so relieved that Brynn is here with me, because the girl’s got game,” the fashion aficionado, 55, said in a confessional interview. “I have none, I’m so shy. I’ve never picked anyone up ever.”
As the duo scoped out the scene, Brynn spotted a hottie across the bar who eventually noticed them making eye contact and came over to introduce herself. Jenna’s prospect began bonding with Brynn over their beauty marks, and the former J.Crew creative director stood back and watched her work her magic.
“Brynn’s an amazing wingwoman,” she marveled. “She’s so vivacious and clearly straight, so she’s not a threat, she’s charming.”
In her conversation with her date, Jenna admitted, “I haven’t been single in so long that I actually don’t know how to do any of this stuff anymore, so I’m having a little bit of an out of body experience.”
She added that she felt like a “fish out of water” when Brynn approached the couple and suggested the woman give her costar her number by writing it on her arm and sealing the deal with a kiss.
The two of them became flustered but obliged.
Brynn said later, “Jenna needs to be a typical New York love story and date someone younger. You’re successful, you’re established, you’ve got this thing going… find a young hottie.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Jessel and Pavit got ready for their stay at the Ritz-Carlton to put an end to their year-and-a-half dry spell. Preparing for the big night, Jessel revealed a piece of sexy lingerie she got for their staycation and gave her husband a fashion show.
“Happy non-anniversary date night,” Jessel said to Pavit while toasting glasses of champagne. “Oh, happy sex-a-versary.”
“What I’m going through is not new news, we are in a rut and it’s normal,” the mom of two said in a confessional. “It’s not a scandal.”
Following her night out on the town, Jessel met with Sai de Silva to clear the air about the drama between them during the women’s trip to Anguilla. When the fashion publicist opened up about her upbringing, she was accused of creating a sob story in comparison to Sai and Brynn’s raw stories about their childhoods.
But Jessel was 41 minutes late to their lunch and didn’t start the conversation off on the right foot. The duo engaged in some small talk in which Jessel revealed that she was no longer a “born again virgin” — though Sai didn’t buy it.
“I’m sorry I do not believe that her and Pavit had sex,” Sai said in a confessional. “There’s zero detail and I think Jessel is so sick of us asking if she’s sealed the deal that she’s lying.”
Later, Jessel apologized if Sai felt “offended” about “comparing” her upbringing.
“Jessel to be honest with you, I don’t care,” Sai replied, acknowledging her tendency to be “very abrasive” and noting she grilled her with questions because she was “genuinely curious.”
“I want to open up to you guys and I want to share who I am,” Jessel explained. “Now it’s like I’m nervous and I’m f — -ing scared to even share stuff with you guys.” The brand consultant shared that Sai’s story about her alcoholic mother moved her and opened up about her own history with her uncle who suffered from the same disease.
Jessel became emotional and tears began to fall though Sai claimed her confession was “apples and oranges compared to my story,” then called her out in a confessional for comparing herself again.
Jessel continued, “I felt disrespected when I tried to tell my story, it’s hard for me to talk about myself … and every single time I do that, it feels like you and Erin [Dana Lichy] constantly are like vultures just tearing apart my story.”
Sai became uncomfortable. “I don’t want to talk about my mom again,” she said in a confessional, “and I don’t want to talk about the reason why you’re only spilling this because of my mom…. We all know I’m not sentimental. I’m done.”
“Your story is your story, our stories are completely different. I love you, but I’ve got to go,” Sai said before leaving a confused Jessel at the table.
