Heather Rae El Moussa is looking to the future.
In a conversation, the reality star, 36, opens up about a new chapter of house flipping with her husband, Tarek El Moussa, which will be featured on the second season of their HGTV docuseries, The Flipping El Moussas.
“Season one was good, but season two is incredible,” Heather says. “The houses are incredible, the designs are incredible, and I’m super involved with every single design of every house that we’re flipping.”
“It’s a lot of work,” she continues. “I love flipping houses. It’s very rewarding, it’s very exciting, and I love being able to take a nasty, beat-up disgusting house and transform it into something beautiful.”
Heather adds, “It’s just such an incredible job … and getting to flip houses with my husband is so much fun. We just really enjoy what we’re doing.”
According to Heather, getting to film The Flipping El Moussas with Tarek, 42, is vastly different from working on her Netflix series, Selling Sunset.
“I love being able to prioritize my family and my happiness and step away from some of the drama that Selling Sunset brought into my life,” she says of the series, which saw its seventh season premiere earlier this month.
“I was in some movies, I had done modeling, so I’d been in front of the camera before, but reality is a whole different animal, and Selling Sunset really did prepare me for, not The Flipping El Moussas in general, but just it prepared me on TV and being in front of the camera,” Heather continues.
“But I can just film with my husband now, drama-free,” she adds. “I mean, the dramas in the houses, it’s not with the people. And that is so incredible that I don’t have to worry about fighting with a girl if I go to work.”
Still, Heather says she has lots of love for her Selling Sunset castmates, which include Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young and Bre Tiesi.
“Those ladies are always going to be my girlfriends,” she explains. “We went through a lot together.”
“They’re lifelong friends, and that’s the most important thing and the most important takeaway from Selling Sunset,”Heather says. “I still support the show, I love the ladies. I was an OG from the beginning and honestly, I wouldn’t change anything in the direction that it went.”
“I had an amazing time when I was filming, [but I’m] onto bigger and better things,” she adds. “I have some incredible things coming up that I can’t announce yet, but there are some bigger things happening in my life.”
The Flipping El Moussas is expected to begin airing sometime in 2024.
