Heather Rae El Moussa is entering a new chapter in her life.
Durign a chat with the Flipping El Moussas star about how “drama free” her life has been since stepping back from Selling Sunset . She was part of the original cast of the hit Netflix real estate show, which premiered in 2019.
The series follows the Oppenheim Group agents as they compete to sell the most luxurious real estate in Los Angeles, often forming feuds — and friendships — along the way.
As a new mom to 9-month-old son Tristan and now entering a new chapter in her career through house flipping, the reality star, 36, says her priorities have changed.
“I love being able to prioritize my family and my happiness and step away from some of the drama that Selling Sunset brought into my life,” Heather Rae tells. “A lot of things happened that I choose not to speak about, but overall I am very happy with how my life is.”
While she is still a real estate agent at the Oppenheim Group, she is stepping back from the reality show to focus on a newer venture alongside husband Tarek — HGTV’s The Flipping El Moussas.
Season 2 of the renovation show, which premiered earlier this year, is expected to drop in early 2024. Viewers will watch the married couple take their flips to a whole new level by tackling some complicated renovations in the upcoming season.
In comparison to Selling Sunset, Heather Rae says, “I can just film with my husband now, drama free,” adding that “the drama is in the houses, not with the people.”
She continues, “It is so incredible that I don’t have to worry about fighting with a girl when I go to work.”
While the new mom says she’s “on to bigger and better things” and that she has some exciting projects coming, she still looks back fondly at her time on Selling Sunset and the friendships she formed with her castmates.
“They’re lifelong friends and that’s the most important takeaway from Selling Sunset,” she says. “Those ladies are always going to be my girlfriends. We went through a lot together.”
In season 6, viewers watched Heather Rae and Bre Tiesi, who was a newcomer to the show and the Oppenheim Group, become especially close. The pair bonded through motherhood, as Heather Rae was pregnant with Tristan at the time and Tiesi shares 16-month-old son Legendary with Nick Cannon.
Heather Rae adds that she “still supports the show” and that she “wouldn’t change anything in the direction that it went.”
“I had an amazing time when I was filming, but there are some bigger things happening in my life,” she concludes.
