Tia Mowry is reflecting on the healing power of spending time alone.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, the actress, 45, shared how she learned this year to embrace solitude as "an opportunity to recharge."
"I have a confession to make: I’ve never been alone. Until now," she began her post. "For the longest time, I’ve found myself in the company of others, as my work and family commitments kept me constantly surrounded by people, and not to mention, I have a twin. Alone time was a rare occurrence growing up."

Mowry went on to explain that she "embraced solitude" over the past year — and discovered something surprising.
"I realized that being alone wasn’t a punishment but rather an opportunity to recharge. Through conscious effort, I transformed these moments into a crucial aspect of maintaining my well-being," she wrote. "This shift allowed me to recognize the value of solitude in refreshing my mind and spirit."
Mowry said that taking this quiet time to "rejuvenate herself" allows her to "fully be present" when she's with her family and friends.
To prove that she is wholeheartedly embracing her "me time," the Sister, Sister alum's post included a video showing just what she gets up to when she's home alone. In the clip, Mowry is holding a glass of red wine and dancing as she sings an Alicia Keys song, using the wine bottle as a microphone.
Her fans seemed to appreciate her empowering post — and the lighthearted, behind-the-scenes video. "The visual of you hanging with yourself, feeling it all 🥰 having the time of your life! Becoming 🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽," one person wrote.
"It’s the best kind of self-love!! Loving your own company ❤️🥰," another fan commented.
Back in October, Mowry shared in a candid Instagram post that she had undertaken a journey of self-discovery in the wake of her 2022 split from Cory Hardrict after 14 years of marriage.
"Who am I when I am not Tia the mom, Tia the actress, or Tia the sister?" Mowry — who shares son Cree, 12, and daughter Cairo, 5, with Hardrict — wrote at the time. "Over the past year, I've earnestly embarked on a journey to discover more about myself and determine what I truly desire in life."
"While I undeniably cherish the various roles I play in my life, it became imperative for me to delve deeper into understanding who Tia, the individual, is and what brings happiness to her life," she continued.
In her post, Mowry also revealed that she decided to go on a retreat to spend time reconnecting with herself.
"During my time there, I devoted a significant portion to journaling and focused on expressing the emotions and thoughts that I've been navigating throughout the year," she explained.
Mowry said the retreat helped her learn the importance of taking time for herself. "The more I prioritize self-care and ensure my own well-being, the more effectively I can support and assist others," she added. "Once my cup is full, I can be better at filling up those in my community!"
