Natalie’s love triangle is still alive and well on 90 Day: The Single Life — in her mom’s heart, at least.
On Monday’s episode of the TLC series, the mother-daughter duo moved into a one-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles thanks to Natalie’s boyfriend Josh, who fronted a large sum of money so Natalie didn’t have to do a credit check. Breezing right past Josh's part in her daughter's success, Natalie's mom had another man in mind to invite over to celebrate the big life step — Natalie’s ex husband Michael.
Say ˹O Prophet, that Allah says˺, “O My servants who believe! Be mindful of your Lord. Those who do good in this world will have a good reward. And Allah’s earth is spacious. Only those who endure patiently will be given their reward without limit.”(The Quran - Chapter Az-Zumar : 10)
Natalie's mom asked her to invite her ex from Seattle to L.A. so he could visit the new digs and get in some quality time.
“My mom, she has a lot of love for Michael,” Natalie said in an interview. “And I understand, but my relationship with Josh, I do believe that it could grow into something more. And I’m so excited and a little bit nervous because Josh is back in town."
The conversation about Michael went unfinished, so it's yet to be seen whether he’ll actually come down the coast for a visit. Instead, the episode's focus turned to Josh’s first meeting with Natalie’s mom. He took the women to dinner in their new city and called them the two most “beautiful” women in the restaurant.
“Natalie’s told me that mom was a little upset that I wasn’t personally at the airport, but it’s important for mom to like me,” he shared in an interview. “I really hope that she feels comfortable with me.”
The three swapped stories about Natalie’s childhood in Ukraine, and Josh got to know his potential mother-in-law a little better. For Natalie, it was a step in the right direction. Many previous fights led to this moment, when Natalie, her mom and Josh could live in the same city. As Natalie considered what a relationship with Josh could look like, she weighed this new glimpse of peace and harmony against what a repeat of the past might mean for her mother.
“Josh has been really amazing lately. But, in the past, he has done several things that pisses me off — if he won’t keep his word this time, he won’t be disappointing just me,” she said. “He will be disappointing my mom, and this time, it will be over.”
Viewers will remember Natalie and Michael were married in previous 90 Day seasons, though their marriage ended when Natalie "ran away" from Seattle to start her own life in Florida. Natalie briefly tried to win Michael back after he expressed financial and emotional support for her mother to flee Ukraine. However, Michael said he wasn't able to trust Natalie enough to give their marriage another shot.
It all unfolded last season on The Single Life — and Josh stuck around despite Natalie's attempt to win Michael back.
90 Day: The Single Life airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
