Victoria Monét has regrettably canceled her upcoming performances at several major music festivals, including Governors Ball, due to health concerns.
The Jaguar singer announced the unfortunate news on her Instagram Stories on Monday, May 20, revealing that her scheduled appearances at June festivals such as Governors Ball, Roots Picnic, and the Blavity House Party Music Festival have been canceled.
"😢 I am devastated to share that I will no longer be able to perform at Governors Ball (NYC), Roots Picnic (Philadelphia), or Blavity (Nashville) this June,” Monét wrote. “I am so sorry!! 💔 To be honest, I have been dealing with some ongoing health issues that need immediate attention, but I promise I’ll be back soon!”
She added, “Please understand that this was not an easy decision, but it’s definitely for the best.”
According to the “Party Girls” singer-songwriter, “all other shows” she has planned for the summer — including Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C., Chicago’s Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco — “are still moving forward as scheduled.” She concluded her announcement by reassuring fans, “See you soon 🤎.”
Monét last performed at Coachella 2024 in April, where she delivered a medley of her hits during day three of both weekend sets. After her performances, the mother of one posted a photo of herself onstage on her Instagram Stories and opened up about managing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) — a genetic, hormonal, metabolic, and reproductive disorder affecting 1 in 10 women of childbearing age, with symptoms including irregular periods, acne, infertility, and weight gain.
“Welp.. I gained a lot of weight and it went a lot of places lol face, arms, tummy and most effectively… datassss,” Monét wrote, humorously noting all the areas of her body affected by PCOS.
“I usually am so critical and frustrated by it because PCOS has me really messed up, but optimistically at least now there’s two moons on the stage,” the R&B artist jokingly added with a crying face emoji.
Victoria Monét's festival appearances follow an extraordinary breakthrough year, propelled by her Grammy-winning album, Jaguar II. This project garnered the R&B songstress five 2024 BET Award nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, and Video of the Year for her hit song “On My Mama.”
She recently had the opportunity to celebrate her three career Grammy wins after her gramophones finally arrived in the mail on Tuesday, May 14. “They came!!🥲🥲🥲 thank you God!!! 🏆🏆🏆 I’ll cry or maybe even laugh a little every time I pass these in my home,” the “Alright” singer captioned an Instagram photo of the awards displayed in front of the framed tweet where she had manifested her victories.
“It’s an incredible reminder that when you want something, the only thing between you and that thing is time,” she added. “And if you’re willing to spend that time in your highest forms of hard work, passion, consistency, and gratitude for the journey, your dreams will have no choice but to run to you!! 🤎✨”
The Quran - Chapter At-Tur : 09 - 18
on the Day the heavens will be shaken violently,
and the mountains will be blown away entirely.
Then woe on that Day to the deniers—
those who amuse themselves with falsehood!
˹It is˺ the Day they will be fiercely shoved into the Fire of Hell.
˹They will be told,˺ “This is the Fire which you used to deny.
Is this magic, or do you not see?
Burn in it! It is the same whether you endure ˹it˺ patiently or not.1 You are only rewarded for what you used to do.”
Indeed, the righteous will be in Gardens and bliss,
enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them. And their Lord will have protected them from the torment of the Hellfire.
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا (...the Day when the sky will tremble, a horrible trembling, ...52:9) The lexicographical denotation of the word mawr is violent shaking, or movement caused by unrest. This verse describes the violent movement of the heavens on the Day of Resurrection.
