On June 4, musician Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie XO announced their plans to expand their family through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
During an appearance on the Bussin With The Boys podcast, the 39-year-old singer and rapper shared that he has lost over 60 pounds to ensure he can keep up with his children and any future additions to their family. Jelly Roll, who already has a 16-year-old daughter, Bailee Ann, and a 7½-year-old son, Noah Buddy, from previous relationships, emphasized his desire to live longer for his kids.
Reflecting on his health and longevity, Jelly Roll mentioned the late Jerry Garcia, saying, "I used to think living to 56 would be an achievement, considering many celebrities pass away much younger. But now, I want to see my 60s and beyond."
Bunnie XO shared a video of the interview on her Instagram, revealing their decision to pursue IVF. She wrote, “Papabear dropped a surprise on this pod today. We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we’ve always been so open.”
She added, “With all odds stacked against us, it’s always been hard & we have only just begun. God willing- Baby DeFord 2026 💫 @bussinwtb,” accompanied by a teary-eyed emoji.
IVF involves retrieving mature eggs from a woman’s ovaries, fertilizing them with sperm in a lab, and then transferring the resulting embryos into the uterus, aiming for successful implantation and pregnancy.
In May, Jelly Roll completed his first 5K race, having lost over 70 pounds. He told in April, "I've been really kicking ass, man. I'm doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I'm doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I'm eating healthy right now."
Though Bunnie XO is not the biological mother of Jelly Roll’s children, she has embraced her role fully. The couple gained full custody of Bailee in 2017 due to her mother’s struggles with addiction. Bailee has since shared on Bunnie’s Dumb Blonde podcast that she and her biological mother are working on their relationship as her mother recovers.
Bunnie’s close bond with Noah was also evident in a TikTok video they made together before his seventh birthday in 2023, where Noah introduced himself and shared his favorite color.
For Mother’s Day in 2020, Jelly Roll praised his wife, saying, “It takes a special kind of woman to raise a kid that isn’t her child and still treat the child as if she was.”

The Story of the People of Nuh (علیہ السلام) and the Lesson Learnt from it
مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ (and said, " (He is) a madman", and he was threatened...54:9). The word wazdujira literally denotes 'he was rebuked'. It refers to the attitude of the people of Nuh علیہ السلام who rebuked and threatened him to stop him from preaching.
On another occasion in the Qur'an, we read that the people of Nuh (علیہ السلام) threatened and warned him that if he does not stop propagating his message, he would be stoned to death.
` Abd Ibn Humaid reports from Mujahid that when some of his people found him somewhere, they would choke him, as a result he would become unconscious. But when he recovered, he would pray to Allah, '0 Allah! Forgive my people, for they do not know the truth'.
In this way, he endured the persecution of his people patiently for nine hundred and fifty years, prayed for their forgiveness and understanding of the truth. Eventually, when the situation became intolerable, and he could no longer resist his people, he invoked Allah to help him against them.
As a result, Allah opened the gates of the heaven with torrential rain, and the entire nation was drowned which is mentioned in the forthcoming verse.
