“Make sure to get those moles checked, people!” the singer urged fans in a social media clip.
Kevin Jonas is encouraging his fans to take their health seriously!
On Tuesday, June 11, the “Leave Before You Love Me” singer, 36, took to social media to share that he had undergone surgery to remove skin cancer.
“Friendly reminder to get your moles checked 🙏,” he captioned a video of himself at a medical facility before and after the procedure.
The video starts with Jonas lying down and recording a selfie video.
“Today, I’m getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head,” he explained, moving the camera closer to show the skin abnormality. “Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer spot that started to grow, and now I need surgery to remove it.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that begins in the basal cells — a type of cell within the skin that produces new skin cells as old ones die off.” They also note that it “often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, though it can take other forms.”
“So here we go,” the Camp Rock alum said before the video transitioned to a clip of him after the basal cell carcinoma was removed. Jonas showed himself lifting the gauze that covered his fresh scar, using an emoji to block out the graphic image.
“Alright, I’m all done,” he continued, this time sitting in a vehicle with his seatbelt on. “Now it’s time to heal, heading home.”
Before ending his video, the “Burnin’ Up” hitmaker had a final message for his fans.
“Make sure to get those moles checked, people!”
Fans flooded his Instagram comment section with well wishes, including a message from The Skin Cancer Foundation.
“So sorry to hear about your BCC, Kevin. Thank you for raising awareness. Early detection is key. Wishing you the best on your recovery journey. 🫶🏽,” the organization wrote.
The “What A Man Gotta Do” singer’s surgery came at a convenient time, as the Jonas Brothers are currently on a break from touring. Their last date was April 30 in Cancún, Mexico.
The famous siblings will resume The Tour on Aug. 21 in Mexico City.
Their Mexico dates were postponed last month when Nick Jonas revealed he had the flu.
"I have some not-so-fun news to share," the 31-year-old said in a May 3 Instagram video. "A couple of days ago, I started feeling kind of rough, lost my voice when I woke up, and pushed through to play the show in Cancún."
The caption of the joint post, shared on both his page and the official Jonas Brothers account, added, “We are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience this causes some of you.”
However, the band promised to “bring 120% in August!”
The Quran - Chapter Ar-Rahman : 24 - 25
To Him belong the ships with raised sails, sailing through the seas like mountains.
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
The word جَوَارِی۔ jawari is the plural of جَارِیَہ - jariyah. One of its meanings is ship and that is the sense in which it is used in the current verse. The word مُنشَآتُ munsha'at is derived from نَشَأ nasha'a which means 'to rise up or high, be lofty'.
Al-munsha'at thus refers to 'sails of the ships that are lofty'. The verse describes the wisdom of making the ship and its running on the surface of the water.
