Mackenzie McKee Explores Options to Expand Her Family
Mackenzie McKee, known for her role on "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter", is considering ways to grow her family. In a clip shared, the 29-year-old mother of three visits her doctor with her fiancé, Khesanio Hall, to discuss their options.
Mackenzie, who shares Broncs, 7, Jaxie, 10, and Gannon, 12, with her ex-husband Josh McKee, faces unique health challenges due to a tubal ligation she had seven years ago. The doctor asks if she's interested in a tubal reversal, explaining the process: "We'd schedule the surgery to see what the tubes look like. If everything looks good and you're a good candidate, then we do the reversal. After that, you try at home. In your age category, there's a 15 to 20% success rate."
Surprised by the low odds, Mackenzie clarifies, "So there's only a 20% chance of getting pregnant after tubal reversal?"
The doctor confirms this, adding that the success rate assumes all other factors, like sperm quality, hormone levels, and ovulation, are optimal. Mackenzie then inquires about other options, leading the doctor to suggest in vitro fertilization (IVF), which has a 65 to 70% success rate.
IVF wouldn't require surgery since only the ovaries and uterus are needed for the procedure. When Khesanio asks about the cost, the doctor estimates it to be between $10,000 and $20,000.
Mackenzie also asks about the implications of her type 1 diabetes on the pregnancy process. The doctor explains, "The only requirement for getting pregnant with type 1 diabetes is having an A1C number at 6.5. We are very strict about this number to ensure a healthy pregnancy."
Last month, Mackenzie and Khesanio announced their engagement. Mackenzie shared how meaningful Khesanio's beach proposal was for her and her children. Despite not currently co-parenting with her ex Josh, Mackenzie is optimistic about the future. She praises Khesanio, saying, "My kids are raised by Khes. He is security for all of us. The hero that came to our rescue. I love his love for them."
She adds, "It's not just a stepdad relationship, it's a true love deep in his heart. I know my kids wouldn't want life any other way than for Khes to be a part of it forever."
'Teen Mom: The Next Chapter" airs on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on MTV.
