Paul “PK” Kemsley, known for his role on 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' shared an emotional milestone on Instagram: he has been sober for six months. In his heartfelt post on Sunday, PK, 56, expressed his gratitude and pride, noting that staying sober is the greatest gift he can give his five children on Father's Day. Alongside a graphic illustrating his sobriety—half a year, 6.06 months, 186 days, and 4,453 hours—he wrote, "Grateful and proud to say this weekend I am 6 months ... Happy Fathers Day to all you great dads out there doing your best."
This announcement comes in the wake of his separation from his wife of nine years, Dorit Kemsley, 47, which they revealed last month. During the latest season of RHOBH, Dorit discussed PK’s drinking habits, stating, "PK was drinking a lot and he's a drinker. I just think that it's very difficult to have clear-headed conversations when he's drinking so much, so he gave up drinking."
In the season finale, Dorit openly questioned PK's ability to change and the implications for their future together. She reflected on the past year, saying, "My main takeaway is PK and I have a lot of work to do. No matter how hard I try, it feels like he's never gonna take me seriously and be as present as I need him to be when I need him." She pondered whether she could accept him as he is, uncertain about the answer.
The couple, who married in March 2015, have two children: daughter Phoenix, 7, and son Jagger, 9. PK also has three children from a previous marriage, who were mentioned in his sobriety post but have not appeared on the Bravo show.
Their separation announcement followed a denial of rumors about spending time apart in a statement in October 2023. "We remain committed to working through these issues as a united couple for our family," they said. "We have not separated nor are we planning to do so. Rather, we are focused on healing, making changes, and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage."
During the RHOBH reunion in March, Dorit addressed their marital struggles, revealing that "things got progressively worse" after filming wrapped. She described their situation as "an all-time bad."
Commenting on their separation on Instagram, Dorit bluntly wrote, "S--- happens. It’s called life."
