After undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, Cameron Brink, the WNBA rookie from the Los Angeles Sparks, shared a humorous video documenting her hospital recovery.
On Instagram, the 22-year-old Brink appeared in her hospital gown, interacting with her parents, Greg and Michelle, and her boyfriend, Ben Felter, after the surgery. Still feeling the effects of sedation, Brink’s video was filled with lighthearted and amusing moments.

"I've been sleeping. I've just been chilling. I woke up and I'm so chill," she said, emphasizing her relaxed state by adding, "I'm chilling."
The 6-foot-3 athlete then told her family she felt even more relaxed than usual post-surgery. "I'm in another dimension and I'm chilling. You could sit me here all day and I'm just relaxing," she murmured while sipping cranberry-orange juice.
When her mom asked what show she was excited to watch later, Brink paused before responding, "Love Island," referring to the reality dating series hosted by Ariana Madix on Peacock.
A voice off-camera praised Brink’s resilience during the surgery, to which she responded, "My eyes feel like they're going this way and that way," still clearly under the influence of the medication.
In her Instagram caption, Brink expressed gratitude to her friends, family, and fans for their support as she embarks on her recovery journey. "Chillin on the road to recovery thank you all for the well wishes:) I’m feeling extremely encouraged, supported & ready to make small strides everyday," she wrote, with the hashtag, "#delayednotdenied."
Selected as the second overall pick in this year's WNBA draft, Brink was having a standout rookie season until her injury in June during a game against the Connecticut Sun. The injury also came shortly after she was named to Team USA's 3x3 women's basketball team.
"This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger," Brink wrote on Instagram following the injury.
"I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life — I’m not defined by basketball, but it is something that I love deeply and I will work every day to get back to it," she continued. "It’s not goodbye basketball, it’s just a see you later. I’m always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers. 💜💛 #delayednotdenied”
