Country singer Mark Chesnutt is set to perform in Alabama on October 9, marking his return to the stage after a recent emergency heart surgery.
On Tuesday, July 16, the "Too Cold at Home" artist, 60, announced his upcoming performance at the Songs and Stories Of Dean Dillon event, which celebrates the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member. The concert will be held at the Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama. Chesnutt shared an Instagram post promoting the event and included a link for ticket purchases.
Chesnutt had been hospitalized on June 16 for emergency quadruple bypass surgery, as confirmed by a post from his team on Instagram on June 18. The post described Chesnutt as a prominent figure in '90s country music and a honky-tonk staple for over three decades. The caption explained that he faced a serious heart issue, which required immediate surgery, and requested privacy for his family during his recovery.
In the post, Chesnutt expressed regret over canceling upcoming shows but thanked his family, friends, band, and fans for their support and understanding. He assured fans that he looked forward to performing again soon.
On June 25, Chesnutt shared an update on Instagram, featuring a video of him playing guitar on stage to his song "Rollin' with the Flow." He captioned the post with gratitude for the successful surgery and the support he received, mentioning that he was recovering at home with his family and enjoying the Texas weather. He eagerly anticipated returning to the stage to perform for his fans.
Previously, on November 14, 2023, Chesnutt had informed his followers about his severe health issues, indicating he would take a break to focus on his health, with plans to resume touring in February 2024.
