Heart's Ann Wilson has shared an update on her health, revealing that she recently underwent successful surgery following a cancer diagnosis.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 2, the 74-year-old musician reassured fans that the procedure went well. “I’m feeling great,” Ann wrote. However, her doctors have recommended a course of preventative chemotherapy, which she has decided to pursue.
As a result, Ann has been advised to take the rest of the year off from performing to ensure a full recovery. This means Heart’s Royal Flush Tour, which was supposed to start in Cleveland on July 30 and run through December, will be postponed.
“To everyone who bought tickets, I truly wish we could do these shows,” Ann expressed. “I fully intend to be back on stage in 2025. My team is working on the details, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we can.”
Ann expressed her gratitude for the fans' support and promised her return. “This is just a temporary pause. I have so much more to sing,” she concluded. “Love, Ann Wilson. Respectfully, this will be my last public statement on the matter.”
Heart's official Instagram page also posted the statement, adding that more information would be provided in the coming weeks.
Recently, Ann and her sister Nancy had to cancel several European concerts scheduled for June and July due to health concerns. At the time, they mentioned Ann needed a “time-sensitive but routine medical procedure” requiring at least six weeks of recovery.
Ann reassured fans then, too, saying she was “okay” and apologizing for any inconvenience the cancellations might cause. “It’s certainly an inconvenience for me,” she added.
Heart last performed in April and late May with a series of North American concerts. After reuniting in 2019 following a three-year break, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
