Kyle Richards is celebrating a significant milestone in her journey toward sobriety.
On Thursday, July 18, the 55-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star marked a special occasion, celebrating two years without alcohol.
“This week was my 2-year anniversary of being alcohol-free (July 15th). I can remember a time when the idea of going 2 weeks seemed impossible,” Richards wrote on Instagram.

She expressed pride in her achievement, saying, “I’m proud of the fact that I’ve had the willpower to stay on this path.” Her post featured a mirror selfie showing her toned physique as she flexed her bicep in a black two-piece workout set, standing in front of dumbbells and gym equipment.
Richards noted that many people, even well-intentioned friends, wished for her to start drinking again. “Everyone loved ‘Party Kyle.’ I think that was the hardest part of all of this. The resistance from others,” she explained.
Reflecting on her past as a “people pleaser,” she mentioned the lack of “encouragement” she initially received. Despite this, she admitted, “I may still drop a split here and there,” before emphasizing the importance of her mental and physical health over the pressure to be “on” at social events. She added that looking better without alcohol was a great incentive to continue her sober journey.
“It would have been a lot harder going through these difficult times if I had been drinking,” she wrote, without specifying the challenges. Her post came shortly after her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, was seen kissing a mystery woman at the airport in Mykonos, Greece, on Tuesday, July 16.
This incident occurred a year after that Richards and Umansky had separated after 27 years of marriage. They share daughters Alexia, 28, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16, while Richards also has a daughter, Farrah Brittany, 35, from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
In a May 14 episode of the Bitch Bible podcast, Richards confirmed that Umansky had moved out of their shared home and into a place in West Hollywood. She described the experience, saying, “I always knew when that day came it would feel strange. Very real all of a sudden. And that’s exactly what happened. I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house. The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, 'Everything's so quiet.'”
Richards concluded her post by highlighting her commitment to her healthier lifestyle: “I prefer to see people and situations just as they are. AND without the hangxiety.”

You certainly have an excellent example in them for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day. But whoever turns away, then surely Allah ˹alone˺ is the Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
