Chrissy Teigen Says Nick Jonas Was 'So Kind' to Son Miles, 6, After He Was Also Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes

Chrissy Teigen recently shared that her son, Miles, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and he's receiving a lot of support, including from Nick Jonas.

On July 31, Teigen announced on Instagram that Miles had been diagnosed with the lifelong autoimmune disease following a hospital stay due to an illness he caught at summer camp.

Support poured in for Teigen's post, with fans and friends sending messages of encouragement. One commenter mentioned, "My two brothers have T1. Love that book. ❤️ @nickjonas does too. Your son should meet awesome people and see he's not alone and can still achieve anything. It's scary, but it becomes second nature, and you guys will rock it."

Teigen responded, "Nick was so kind to him!! We were so lucky to run into him ❤️."

Teigen and her husband, John Legend, also have son Wren Alexander, 13 months, and daughters Esti Maxine, 18 months, and Luna Simone, 8.

Nick Jonas has been open about his Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, which he received 18 years ago. He shared his journey on Instagram in November, reflecting on how it took him time to manage the condition.

Earlier in 2021, Jonas said, "I had this kind of wrench thrown into things when I was diagnosed, and it took a while to figure out how to count carbs to properly dose for insulin and what things would affect me in different ways." He mentioned that after 16 years, he had a "fairly good grip on it," but he wished he had someone to look up to when he was younger. Now, he aims to be that role model for young people with diabetes. "That's my focus," he said.

Fans speculated about Miles's diagnosis after Teigen posted a photo on July 28 showing her with Miles and Luna cheering on Olympic gymnast Simone Biles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the photo, Miles was wearing a short-sleeved yellow shirt, and his continuous glucose monitor was visible on his upper arm.
