Mamie Laverock Returns Home from the Hospital 3 Months After Balcony Fall 'Dreams Do Come True'

Mamie Laverock has finally returned home after months of recovery.

On Monday, August 19, her official Facebook page celebrated the momentous occasion with a heartfelt post, saying, "Dreams do come true. Welcome Home Mamie." This joyous update comes three months after the 20-year-old "When Calls the Heart" actress suffered a fall from a five-story balcony in May.

Accompanying the post was a photo of a handmade 'Home Sweet Home' sign featuring Laverock’s picture. The sign was displayed beneath pink streamers, while a nearby table was adorned with a purple tablecloth, a rainbow and daisy balloon arch, and a rainbow cake with white frosting and multi-colored candles.

Although Mamie is still recovering from severe injuries, her Facebook page reassured followers that she is in good hands: "She needed to be home. We’re so happy for her. She’s made it this far… next chapter. It’s a blessing to have her back."

This update follows another significant milestone in Laverock's recovery. On August 2, a video was posted showing her standing up and taking her first steps since the accident. The caption expressed gratitude: "Thank you surgeons, thank you prayers, thank you Lord. Mamie has just taken her first steps." In the video, Laverock, with air casts on both legs, sat on a hospital bed surrounded by family and medical staff. With the help of a walker and encouragement from her loved ones, she managed to stand and take a few steps, even though she admitted the sensation felt "very weird" and "wobbly."

Laverock’s ordeal began on May 26 when she fell from a five-story balcony walkway, leaving her in critical condition. A GoFundMe page, set up by her family, shared that she had initially been taken to a Winnipeg hospital by her mother, Nicole Rockmann, on May 11 due to a "medical emergency." She was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital, and while her recovery was uncertain at first, she began showing signs of improvement.

In an update posted at the end of May, her family revealed more details about the accident, explaining that Mamie, who had been receiving intensive treatment, was escorted from a secure hospital unit and tragically fell from the balcony. Despite the challenges, her recent progress and return home mark a hopeful step forward in her journey.
