Tess Holliday Responds to 'Obsessed' Critics Who Say She Is Lying About Her Size and Is 'Bigger' Than She Claims

Tess Holliday Defends Her Size Against Social Media Skeptics: "I'm Having So Much Fun"

Tess Holliday is hitting back at critics on social media who doubt her claims about her body size.

On August 10, the 39-year-old model and body positivity advocate shared a TikTok video where she confidently revealed she is a size 24 while wearing a swimsuit. This post, however, sparked a flurry of negative comments from viewers who questioned her size and suggested she was much larger.

Holliday responded with a series of videos addressing the criticism, using humor to deflect the negativity. “Oh no, I’ve been exposed,” she quipped sarcastically. “I’m actually a size 69—get into it.”

In another video, Holliday demonstrated her size by showing the tag on her pants, which reads 3X, and referenced a size chart indicating that 3X corresponds to sizes 24 and 26. “I am having so much fun,” she remarked, enjoying the opportunity to set the record straight.

She further engaged with her critics, noting, “It’s amusing that so many people are fixated on my supposed ‘lie about my size.’ This video is nearing a million views, so keep debating and keep calling me disgusting.”

Despite her resilient attitude towards online criticism, Holliday admitted earlier this year that such comments take a toll on her mental well-being. In an April 15 TikTok, she expressed her frustration with the platform’s fatphobic culture, saying, “The moment you slip up, everyone is quick to criticize your size and suggest you’re unworthy. It’s been tough, and honestly, I’m not enjoying it. My mental health is a bit fragile right now, and sometimes we’re just doing our best.”

Holliday continued, “When we make mistakes, instead of labeling us as the most repulsive or largest person ever, maybe we could just offer understanding. Some of us are struggling and trying hard, and harsh criticism isn’t helpful.”

She concluded with a heartfelt message in the caption, “I am truly doing my best, and I appreciate all your support.”

The Quran - Chapter At-Talaq : 02

Then when they have ˹almost˺ reached the end of their waiting period, either retain them honourably or separate from them honourably. And call two of your reliable men to witness ˹either way˺—and ˹let the witnesses˺ bear true testimony for ˹the sake of˺ Allah. This is enjoined on whoever has faith in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make a way out for them,
