Authorities rushed to an incident at Tennessee Safari Park on September 2, where a guest was reportedly bitten by a camel.

Television personality Amy Slaton finds herself embroiled in legal trouble, facing accusations of drug possession and child endangerment following her apprehension at a Tennessee wildlife attraction.

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department confirmed in a social media statement that deputies were dispatched on Monday, September 2, in response to reports of a guest allegedly suffering a camel bite at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were immediately alerted to suspicious odors emanating from the guest's vehicle.

Amy Slaton, known for her role on TLC's reality show "1000-Lb. Sisters" since its debut in January 2020, along with Brian Scott Lovvorn, was subsequently arrested and now faces multiple charges, including illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule IV controlled substances and two counts of child endangerment, as outlined in the sheriff's announcement.

Lovvorn, who was present in the vehicle with Slaton, faces identical charges, and both individuals have been detained in Crockett County Jail.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the person bitten by the camel or provided any further details regarding potential injuries sustained in the incident.

“The charges and allegations in this communication are solely accusations of criminal activity and do not constitute evidence,” the Sheriff's Department clarified in their statement. “The accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and formally convicted in a court of law.”

This development comes amid a period of personal upheaval for Slaton. In March 2023, it was revealed that her husband of four years, Michael Halterman, with whom she shares two sons — Gage Deon, age 4, and Glenn Allen, age 2 — had filed for divorce.

Reflecting on motherhood after Glenn's birth during a 2023 episode of her reality series, Slaton expressed, "My heart is overflowing. Being a mother is what I have desired since I was five years old, and I've always longed for two children. Our family feels complete now; we could be framed and put on the wall.”

In December 2023, Slaton discussed her focus on mental wellness and raising her sons post-divorce.

After enduring a challenging year, she acknowledged that her mental health had reached an all-time low.

“It wasn’t just affecting me; it was impacting Gage and Glenn as well. It was a very rough period,” she confessed.
