At least one person was killed, and more than ten others injured when an assembled stage partially collapsed due to strong winds at a EDM Medusa festival about 30 miles south of Valencia, Spain.
According to the local emergency services tweet,
"At 4:18 am, part of the stage at Medusa Festival collapsed in Cullera due to a strong gust of wind, One person died and three were seriously hurt with multiple injuries,"
According to CBS, Health authorities later reported there were 40 people injured.
The Medusa Festival also posted and their statement reads in Spanish which states that they announced to ended 2022 festival after the horrific incident and they make sure safety of their goers, staff and artists.
"unexpected and violent gale, to immediately evacuate the concert area to ensure the safety of the festival goers, staff and artists."
"We are morally and responsibly obligated to end our 2022 festival."
"It is a very painful day." "we express our profound and most sincere condolences."
The Medusa Festival's Circus of Madness is a six days festival and it entered its fourth day when the winds hit and stage partially collapsed. The Medusa Festival were expecting to draw more than 320,000 people in attendance this year.
"You don't deserve what happened. My heart is with you, today I cry for you. I love you ❤️"
According to the Daily Mail, DJ Miguel Serna, was on stage for a scheduled 3 a.m. set when the storm hit. DJ Miguel Serna wrote an Instagram story and wrote,
"It was a tense few minutes, I've never experienced anything like it before. The tragedy happened just at the end of my session on the main stage, just below it, which was the most affected (area). It was a few moments of horror, I am still in shock,"
The local emergency services account keep updating throughout the night and they also setup a hotline for emergency services for the affected by wind in festival.
