On Monday night, the singer, who is expecting her second child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, wowed on the red carpet as she walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Rihanna, 35, wore an all-white costume that covered the majority of her body — even her head! — for this year's fashion event. The lower half of the dress billowed out in a beautiful A-line, while the top was fully covered in enormous white floral motifs that began around her hips and went all the way up to her head.
The "Umbrella" singer accessorised with white cat-eye sunglasses (complete with artificial eyelashes), fingerless gloves, and a bright red lip.
Rihanna removed the top section of her dress shortly after arriving on the red carpet, revealing a more fitting bodice with spaghetti straps that showed off her baby belly.
Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky, 34, looked dapper in a red plaid high-low kilt over bedazzled wide-leg trousers, wearing a white shirt under a dark blazer, a dark tie, sunglasses, and black shoes.
Rihanna's first Met Gala appearance since 2021, when she and A$AP Rocky strolled the red carpet in matching cosy oversized coats. After HotGossipNewz confirmed their relationship the previous November, that appearance marked their official debut as a couple.
Since then, the two have shared other relationship milestones. They not only walked many more red carpets, but they also became first-time parents in May 2022 when they welcomed a baby boy.
"Rihanna is doing very well." They are overjoyed to be parents. "Rihanna is already an amazing mother," a source told HotGossipNewz at the time.
After Rihanna debuted her baby bump during her Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, HotGossipNewz confirmed the couple was expecting their second child.
While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's second Met Gala as a couple, the singer is a seasoned pro when it comes to the fashion event. Rihanna has attended the Met Gala numerous times since her debut in May 2007.
In fact, she has become well known for her jaw-dropping red carpet designs, ranging from her game-changing androgynous take on black-tie wearing in 2009 to her opulent papal-inspired appearance in 2018.
Rihanna, like many other Met Gala participants this year, had a strong relationship with the late Karl Lagerfeld, who is being honoured at the event.
In addition to wearing Chanel and Fendi on numerous occasions, she has also appeared on various red carpets alongside Lagerfeld.
