Below Deck Mediterranean’s “boatmances” are beginning to hit rocky waters.
Bravo released a new midseason trailer on Monday that shows how the boat manages to regroup after Captain Sandy Yawn’s stern discussion with the second stew Kyle Viljoen, 31, in the wake of third stew Natalya Scudder’s sudden departure.
But before the crew — not to mention viewers — can get acclimated to Natalya’s exit, she crashes her fellow yachties’ night off. Naturally after Natalya’s polarizing season, some crew members are eager to welcome her back, while others were fine with her gone for good.
Bosun Luka Brunton seems keen to welcome Natalya back into the fold — and into his arms, much to the annoyance of his current pursuit Jessika Asai.
Following Luka’s reconnection with Natalya, Jessika finds a new kissing buddy in deckhand Max Salvador. As the two embrace, new third stew Lily Davison stumbles upon the pair canoodling and asks, “What the f — -?”
“Sorry Lil. He’s a good kisser,” Jessika replies. “I’m just saying.”
But her colleagues’ hookup seems like it might be the least of Lily’s troubles — an exasperated chief stew Tumi Mhlongo calls her new stew “dead weight,” before saying, “I’ve given her more than enough, and she’s just not getting it.”
The preview then shows Lily getting a warning from Captain Sandy that she’s not meeting expectations. During a conversation in the bridge, the captain tells Lily she has “one more chance.”
While Lily begins to reckon with both her professional and personal obstacles, Jessika also begins to deal with the complications of that come with getting mixed up in a boatmance.
Throughout the trailer, Jessika starts to suspect that Luka may be speaking with other girls who aren’t on their boat — including previous Below Deck Med chief stew Katie Flood (who also can be seen in the midst of a mountaintop fling with Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Schwartz on the currently airing third season of Winter House).
As Jessika’s suspicions about Luka grow, she says in a confessional: “Look up ‘f — — boy’ and ‘playboy’” — that’s what Luka is.”
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
