Tom Sandoval can always count on the support of his mom.
In a sneak peek at Monday’s episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, the Vanderpump Rules star, 41, gets emotional when he receives an encouraging video message from his mother Terri Green in the aftermath of #Scandoval.
“Hi Tom! I miss you like crazy but I’m so looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about it,” Terri says as he breaks down in tears. “You take care of yourself and just do it, Tom. All right, I love you. See you soon, not soon enough but soon.”
The reality star then wipes away tears after her message concludes.
Directing Staff agent Jovon Quarles notes that Sandoval is struggling with “all the stuff he’s dealing with back home, the stress of that and this.”
Sandoval admits to fellow recruits JoJo Siwa, Nick Viall and Erin Jackson that he is going “a lot.”
He tells the group that he had just heard from his mom and Siwa asks, “Was it encouraging?” He nods his head yes.
In a previous episode of the Fox competition series, Sandoval opened up about the fallout of his choice to cheat on his then-girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, with their friend Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.
“I had an affair, and it just blew up,” he says. “People were messaging me paragraphs of just like vicious, like, so visceral, like, hatred.”
The Bravo star shared more in a confessional interview about how the secret relationship has impacted him and his reputation.
“Before this whole scandal, I would meet people who had probably seen me on Vanderpump Rules, and they’d be like, ‘Oh my gosh, he’s so cool.’ And then now, people think I’m a complete narcissist, creeper vibes.”
Long before his affair, his mother proved that she would always be in his corner. On a March episode of Vanderpump Rules, he revealed that Terri and stepfather invested in his business Schwartz & Sandy’s, which was delayed in opening.
“We planned this friends and family party at Schwartz & Sandy’s, like, months ago, thinking that we would be open,” Sandoval shared of his decision to move forward with the bash. “I know the smart thing to do would be to save the money, use that towards getting open. But my mom, my stepdad, they invested a quarter of a million dollars into this business venture, I mean, into me. So we’re doing it.”
When she arrived, Terri told her son that she was “so proud” of the accomplishment.
He added that he wanted to make the endeavor a success for his mom, saying, “My mom is a retired firefighter. She’s 5'1”. Always had to bust her ass and work hard to get to where she wanted to be. It’s really important for me to show her that I can do this, that I can make things like this happen and follow through with what I’ve planned.”
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
