Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are proving that any good love story needs a little adventure!
With only markers and index cards, Erbert, 29, gifted her husband a Valentine's Day full of surprises. The dancer chronicled the day in a fun Instagram video that showed Hough, 38, choosing between two cards turned the opposite way around to determine their holiday outfits, dinner, activities, and more.

The video begins with Hough choosing their breakfast location and morning attire. After they go out for breakfast in casual clothing, he selects a walk in the park and shopping for their afternoon activity.
Their day ends with a dinner outing and watching their wedding video in matching sweaters.
Erbert explained that she wanted to have a day that focused on "intention" amid her ongoing recovery after her emergency craniectomy and follow-up surgery for a cranial hematoma in December 2023,
"Made a fun little date day adventure for Valentine's Day! Derek and I always spend a lot of time together, and even more so over the past few months.. But I really wanted to focus on the intention and meaning of the day — spending quality time with my husband (I'm still not really used to saying it 🫠) and being grateful for the unique and special love we share. ♥️," Erbert captioned the post.
Fans gushed about their relationship in the comment section. One wrote, "Forget Travis [Kelce] and Taylor [Swift]! This is the couple I'm invested in ❤️❤️." Another commented, "This is SO beautiful! The two of you are SO beautiful! Plus, I'm totally going to steal your idea.....hahaha!"
The video followed Erbert's post on Wednesday which showcased multiple photos of important moments from the start of their relationship in 2015.
The two wed in an outdoor ceremony in Monterey County, California, in August 2023, with approximately 106 guests.
"We're in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that's surrounded by all these smaller trees. They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We're here, planting our seeds to grow our family," Erbert told of the meaning behind their wedding spot.
Earlier this week, Hough told Entertainment Tonight that he is in "awe" of his wife's resilience these past few months.
"She's unbelievable. When I married her, I knew she was strong, but I really didn't realize how strong she really was until now. I'm just, I really am in awe of her everyday. She's incredible. She really is a miracle and I don't really throw that word around lightly, but she really is," he said.
The Dancing with the Stars judge will resume his Symphony of Dance Tour on April 16 in Tampa, Florida. It's unclear if Erbert, a featured dancer, will join the tour due to her ongoing recovery.
