RHONJ's Lauren Manzo Claps Back at Body-Shaming Critic: Embracing Her Weight Loss Journey from Over 100lbs Heavier!

Lauren Manzo isn't holding back against critics who weigh in on her appearance.

On May 3, the 36-year-old, daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo, took to Instagram to showcase her post-weight loss stomach. However, instead of receiving only positive feedback, she faced criticism regarding her transformation.

One commenter remarked, "You don't even look like yourself anymore." Manzo swiftly responded, defending her journey by stating, "I was 100 lbs. heavier and very unhealthy. So I hope not."

Addressing another allegation that suggested she underwent a tummy tuck, Manzo clarified that her transformation was achieved through non-surgical means.

In the video, Manzo discusses the body sculpting procedures she's undergone since shedding weight. When a critic urged her to promote the importance of diet and exercise alongside body sculpting, she fired back, highlighting her efforts to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

"I consistently discuss my functional medicine doctor and the significant lifestyle changes I've made for my health," the Manzo'd with Children star asserted, refusing to let criticism overshadow her dedication to holistic well-being.

Although she refrained from responding to other comments, Manzo did appreciate one fan's defense of her. The fan's comment, which she liked, read, “To everyone on here commenting on her body, just f-ing STOP, It’s 2024 and there is no reason why anybody should be talking about her body but her, especially a bunch of strangers on the Internet.”

“LEAVE THIS GIRL ALONE! You talk when you think she’s too big and you talk when you think she’s too small, go away. She looks happy and she looks healthy, not that it’s any of our business.”

Later, Manzo took to TikTok to emphasize that being a public figure on social media doesn't mean she's public property and shouldn't be subjected to hateful messages.

“You’re right, I do think I am too skinny right now. I’ve been doing certain things to gain weight but also maintain. I’ve yo-yoed still. I definitely still do not have a healthy relationship with my weight and I’m willing to admit that,” she began.

“But the same people that were commenting stuff like, ‘She looks like a skeleton. She looks terrible,’ are the same people that were commenting that I looked like a whale when I was 200 lbs.,” she continued. “I can’t win. And that’s okay because truthfully, I am happy… I don’t really know why anybody thinks that they have the right to comment something terrible on my stuff or anybody else’s.”

In May 2023, Manzo shared that she shed 30 lbs. with the assistance of Mounjaro, an FDA-approved prescription medication commonly used for individuals with type 2 diabetes.

Mounjaro, a brand name for tirzepatide, boasts effectiveness in weight loss by curbing appetite and enhancing the body's metabolism of sugar and fat. Similar to Ozempic, a brand name for semaglutide, which has gained popularity in Hollywood for its weight loss benefits, Mounjaro operates in the brain to regulate feelings of fullness.

Manzo's decision to start Mounjaro stemmed from her struggles with being "considered morbidly obese" at 280 lbs., which took a toll on her mental well-being. Seeking solutions, she consulted a functional medicine doctor who prescribed a gluten-free and dairy-free diet, resulting in a 50 lbs. weight loss. However, her progress plateaued, prompting her doctor to introduce Mounjaro into her regimen.

Speaking on Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Manzo disclosed, "Since February, I've lost 30 lbs. with Mounjaro." Despite potential skepticism, she attested to the medication's efficacy, emphasizing its positive impact on her mental health and overall well-being.

Acknowledging the controversy surrounding the use of such medications, Manzo expressed gratitude for Mounjaro, asserting its transformative effect on her journey towards better health.

The Quran - Chapter Al-Fath : 19

and many spoils of war they will gain. For Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

This refers to the unhappiness and uneasiness which had been created in the hearts of the companions over the outwardly one-sided Hudaybiyyah Treaty.

However, they accepted this commandment of God with patience and in peace of mind. Within a few months, the benefits of this treaty, started becoming apparent.

This treaty separated the Quraysh from their nexus with the Jews and in this way it became easy to subdue the latter.

With the end of war-like conditions, the propagation of Islam increased manifold, so much so that the Quraysh themselves were subdued through the peaceful dawah process, for no ground was to be gained by fighting against them.
