Sophie Turner recently shared how motherhood has positively impacted her mental health in an insightful episode of The Run-Through with Vogue podcast. In the episode, released on Thursday, May 16, Turner, 28, discussed with journalist Chioma how becoming a mother has motivated her to prioritize her physical and mental well-being.

During the conversation, Turner opened up about how certain events could potentially trigger a mental health episode for her. She revealed to Chioma, who authored her British Vogue cover story, "My problem is that I would isolate if I ever felt triggered ... or depressed."

The actress confessed that she previously endured "days [or] weeks-long ruts" without seeking help. However, she now ensures she "always reaches out to a friend" within her supportive community. Turner explained, "I have these moments all the time where I get overwhelmed and anxious and depressed, and I pick up the phone to my friends, and I can get over it in about 20 minutes." Her coping mechanisms include methods like tapping and box breathing.

"I've been very therapized," she added.

Turner shared that in the past, she would often spiral into "eating poorly or not eating at all" during tough times. However, motherhood has significantly shifted her perspective on self-care and self-worth. As a mother to her daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, with her ex Joe Jonas, Turner expressed how this role has transformed her views.

"My body fed my child in my tummy, and it gave birth to the most amazing kids, the loves of my life," she told Chioma. "I want this body to be around as long as possible so I can spend time with my children for as long as possible. Kids just gave me a whole new lease on life [and] wellness and, yeah, the importance of health and treating yourself with respect."

Turner emphasized that children learn "everything" from their parents. "I want them to see me feeding my body, and I want them to see me loving my body," she added.

The Joan actress also shared more about her struggles with bulimia and mental health issues with British Vogue. “I know when I’m in a bad headspace that the eating thing will always flare up,” she told the outlet. “But now I regulate it by sitting in the discomfort and just getting used to that feeling of being full. It’s all exposure therapy. I think life is exposure therapy.”

The Quran - Chapter Adh-Dhariyat : 57 - 58

I seek no provision from them, nor do I need them to feed Me.

Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ is the Supreme Provider—Lord of all Power, Ever Mighty.

Ù…َا Ø£ُرِ‌يدُ Ù…ِÙ†ْÙ‡ُÙ… Ù…ِّÙ† رِّ‌زْÙ‚ٍ (I do not want any sustenance from them, nor do I want them to feed Me...51:57). It means that by creating jinn and mankind, Allah does not stand in need of them, so that they will have to produce sustenance for Him or for themselves or for any of His other creations or that they earn to feed Him.

This has been stated according to the general trend of people. The most affluent of men buys a slave and spends on him not for nothing, but he has an underlying purpose: He expects the slaves to work for him, help him in his tasks, fulfill his needs and earn livelihood for his master. Allah is immaculate, pure and above all these things. In creating human beings, He does not profit or benefit anything.
