Vanderpump Rules Alum Jax Taylor Admitted In-Patient Facility for Mental Health Treatment

Jax Taylor has entered an in-patient treatment center to focus on his mental health.

"Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” a representative for The Valley said. TMZ first reported the news on Tuesday, July 30.

The statement continued: "He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter."

Before entering the mental health facility, Taylor, 45, posted a picture to his Instagram Stories of two books titled "Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life" and "Set Boundaries, Find Peace", with a caption that read "Healing,” per TMZ.

Taylor’s in-patient treatment comes amid his separation from his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. The former couple announced their separation in February after four years of marriage.

Former "Vanderpump Rules" star Cartwright, 35, said on her and Taylor's joint podcast "When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany": “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health."

The pair first met in Las Vegas in 2015, and their relationship was documented on "Vanderpump Rules", their spinoff "Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky", and most recently "The Valley". They tied the knot on June 29, 2019. Nearly two years later, they welcomed their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, on April 12, 2021.

After news of the split broke, the first season of Taylor and Cartwright's latest Bravo series aired. At the February premiere, Taylor explained that the couple thought this was "best for [their] family" because they have "been going through some things for a while now."

Cartwright revealed at the event she feels "a little bit of relief" since separating from Taylor, adding that she "needed this space."

On the May 31 episode of the "When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany" podcast, Taylor spoke about getting lunch with model Paige Woolen, noting that he and Cartwright discussed “possibly dating other people.”

"We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road,” the reality star said, “if that would be the case.”

Days later, on June 4, "The Valley's" season 1 finale aired. The episode flashed forward six months to the weeks after Cartwright moved out of her and Taylor’s house, and both confessed their sentiments around their separation.

“It’s been an amazing nine years,” Taylor said in a confessional. “It really, really has. I have no regrets. I love Brittany, I do. I love my wife. The only thing that’s going to make or break this is time.”

"The Valley" is currently filming its second season. Season 1 is available to stream on Peacock.
