In an Instagram video aired on Tuesday, the Money Hustle co-host, 52, revealed that she was in New Orleans to meet with a Tulane University doctor who had reached out to assist her "figure out what the problem actually is."
Frankel had previously been diagnosed with long COVID and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), an autoimmune illness that causes a variety of symptoms while transitioning from laying down to standing up, including exhaustion, dizziness, and a rapid heart rate.
During a "GRWM" beauty routine, Frankel spoke up about her personal challenges, which resulted in a near-fatal allergic reaction to fish last year.
"When I had my near-death fish reaction — because I'm allergic to regular fish, not shellfish — the worst part was, I was 60/40, I was unconscious when I got to the hospital, and they thought I was going to die because of the blood pressure," she explained.
"The blood pressure is a big problem here," Frankel continued, "and that's why the dizziness, and dehydration leads to it — it's a whole thing."
The reality actress and her daughter, Bryn Hoppy (who turns 13 next week), went snowboarding in Aspen in February, but it wasn't without health issues, according to Frankel.
"I blew up like a tick because I couldn't hold on to water at altitude and I was just drinking and getting IVs and my body was just swelling and it felt dangerous," she said.
Furthermore, the Real Housewives of New York City alumna and podcast host stated that she frequently suffers from "severe aches and pains in my neck."
"We just think these things are who we are and normal, and the thing is, you're a machine that's telling you it's broken down, and you have to listen to it," she explained. "So, I'm here to listen to it."
