During the coronation weekend, Prince William will lead the public tributes to his father, King Charles.
The Prince of Wales is due to make a statement in the monarch's honour at the star-studded Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle a day after pledging allegiance to the King during the coronation service in Westminster Abbey.
According to the Daily Mirror, which broke the story, the "heartfelt" message next Sunday will celebrate King Charles as a man who "devoted himself to duty and the causes he believed in." According to the tabloid, Prince William, 40, may also thank Queen Camilla for providing his father happiness.
Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, where Prince William works, also declined to comment.
Prince William's speech would be similar to what he did at the Platinum Party at the Palace in June 2022, as part of the commemoration of his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth's milestone 70 years on the reign. He spoke about how "proud" he was of his father and late grandfather Prince Philip for their decades of conservation work. The environment is central to William's public activity, which is centred primarily on his revolutionary Earthshot Prize.
During the ceremony on May 6, Prince William will kneel in front of his father, place his hands between his father's, and pledge his loyalty to him, saying, "I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb." So please, God, help me."
The words of the Prince of Wales, known as the devotion of Royal Blood, are evocative of Prince Philip's devotion to Queen Elizabeth during her coronation in 1953, when he likewise swore to be her "liege man of life and limb."
The announcement came as the BBC unveiled breathtaking photographs of the amazing stage design for the performance, which will feature Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Andrea Bocelli as performers. Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis Ffrench will also perform.
