Marin Hinkle has filed for divorce from her husband Randall Sommer after 25 years of marriage.

In court documents, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star cited “irreconcilable differences” when filing. She also listed their date of separation as “TBD.”

The actress requested the court to “reserve” the issue of spousal support “for future determination” and wants both parties to cover their own attorney fees. She also asked the court to keep any assets or earnings accumulated before and after the estranged couple separated as separate property.

In a joint statement shared, the couple wrote, “After careful consideration we have decided to end our marriage. We remain caring friends with mutual respect, admiration and love for one another and for our son. “

Hinkle and Sommer tied the knot in August 1997. They later welcomed their now-teenage son Ben. The pair have been largely private about their personal life.

The 57-year-old actress rose to fame for her supporting roles on television roles like Once and Again, Two and a Half Men and Madam Secretary. She eventually went on to nab a prominent role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, where she portrayed Rose Weissman alongside a star-studded cast that included Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein. The series ran for five seasons from 2017 to 2023.

In April, Hinkle opened up about her close friendship with TV daughter Brosnahan and revealed that the duo “text each other all the time.” She even shared a “funny” tidbit from one of their previous text exchanges and recalled how she once lent the actress some bagel money.

“She has a pilates class that’s right near my house. This is a sweet little story. So one day, she texted me and she said, ‘Are you home?’ And I said, ‘Yeah! Come on in,’” Hinkle laughed. “And she goes, ‘Can you lend me, like, $1?’ And I was like, ‘Are you kidding?’”

She continued, “It actually was $2. There’s a bagel place underneath where my apartment is, and she needed a couple of dollars because it’s cash only. I was like, ‘I’m not giving you just a couple dollars. I’m giving you like at least a 20 and we can both have bagels and sit down together.’”

Hinkle added that the experience created a nice bonding session between the two and she later “came up and she met a whole bunch of relatives that were there and we ended up absolutely in awe of that girl.”

“But you know, she and I spent the time together,” she noted. “And we do that often.”
