Stephen Amell is asking for the public’s help in locating a friend of his, David Andrew McLean.
The actor, 42, made his plea on Friday by sharing a Facebook post written by McLean’s mom along with his own personal message.
“Facebook, I’m here with a very important request on behalf of the entire Arrow family,” Amell wrote.
“Our friend David Andrew McLean was last seen in North Vancouver on October 9th and a missing person report was filed on October 13th. We all love David and just want to make sure he’s ok.”
The Canadian actor asked for individuals to be respectful of the situation by only commenting if they had any relevant information in locating McLean’s whereabouts.
He ended his message with a direct call out to his friend, writing, “We love you David. If you’re read[ing] this, please just come home safe.”
An image included in the original post, which was dated Oct.16, showed McLean smiling next to a 50th birthday cake. In it, a woman named Ceci Snow shared details of her son’s disappearance.
“To the many people who have shared, and re-shared, the Missing Persons report about my son, David, I thank you. Feel free to keep on passing it along as there has been no report of any sighting so far. Many eyes help for sure,” she wrote, adding that the image was of McLean “a month ago at his 50th birthday party.”
“He was last seen in North Vancouver, BC, where he lives. He’s driving a 2000 black VW,” Snow wrote.
According to a missing person’s press release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, McLean is a Caucasian male, has green eyes, and was last seen wearing an army green jacket with a black shirt.
The release stated that McLean “was reported missing on October 13th, 2023,” and was “last seen on October 9th, 2023.”
“While there is no foul play suspected, this is out of character for him. Police consider David Andrew McLean to be at risk and are concerned for his wellbeing,” the release added.
On Tuesday, police shared an update where they renewed their request for information from the public about McLean’s whereabouts and shared that he was last seen in the 5600 block of Kingsway Avenue in Burnaby, BC. They also included a photo of the last vehicle he was seen in, which was a 2001 Blue Volkswagen Golf.
Cst. Mansoor Sahak of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in the statement that, “Our Investigation Support Team has now taken conduct of this file. We are concerned for his wellbeing and are eager to locate him. There is no indication at this time that foul play is involved in his disappearance.”
Anyone with information that might assist in locating McLean is asked to contact the RCMP at 604–985–1311.
