Brandan’s mother and Mary are finally feeling the love!
In a sneak peek at Monday night’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season finale, the new in-laws embraced in a sweet hug after Brandan’s mother Angela revealed how proud she was of her son and daughter-in-law.
With the wedding over and the tension between the women apparently subsided, Mary walks into the room as Brandan removes bugs from their wedding cake following their ceremony. Angela then joins the duo, leading to Brandan jokingly asking her whether she wants to try some cake, to which his mother immediately declines before laughing.
“I’m just gonna’ go to bed. But I’m really, really proud of both of you,” she says.
Touched by her comments, the couple smile and listen to what else Angela has to say.
“I didn’t think that this decision of him coming out of here was a good one,” she admits in a confessional interview, “but he genuinely seems really happy here and she seems very much in love with him.”
She continues that she’s proud of what “they’ve overcome to be together,” noting that, “if they can work together as a team, then I really do believe they have the makings of an epic sort of love story.”
Angela then goes a step farther, saying she believes they’ll be good parents too.
“I’m really glad I got to meet you,” Angela tells Mary as they embrace in a hug.
“Me too,” agrees Mary.
Brandan smiles at seeing the two most important women in his life finally find harmony.
“I feel surprised that Angela gave me a hug because she’s not willing to give me a hug when she arrived in here,” Mary says in a confessional.
Hugging his mother, Brandan says, “I love you too, Mom,” before thanking her for coming to see them.
After Angela says, “Good night” and walks out of the room, Mary reveals in the confessional that she “got teary-eyed” during the emotional moment.
“Because I feel that we’re really OK now, and I’m so glad that I get to meet her,” she explains.
Angela and Mary’s new moment comes after a rocky relationship throughout the season, with Brandan previously stating that the two “basically hate each other from the start.”
Mary then revealed that her then soon-to-be mother-in-law had been a “bitch to me” and that she had been “like a mean girl” since the moment they met face to face.
However, things took a slight turn ahead of the couple’s wedding when Angela encouraged her son to be supportive of Mary and take his role as a husband seriously.
