RHOM's Alexia Nepola Denies Rumors of Financial Troubles and Reveals the Real Reason She Moved

Alexia Nepola is setting the record straight about her finances.

The 56-year-old Real Housewives of Miami star denies rumors that she and her husband Todd Nepola are experiencing financial troubles, insisting that they’re “doing just fine” despite having to hastily move out of her 10,000-sq.-ft. apartment during filming.

That’s not how the season 6 trailer for the Bravo series made it seem. In the clip, Alexia’s costar Adriana de Moura floated speculation that Alexia and Todd were “having some financial issues.” That sound bite aired just before a scene where Alexia sat down to tell her sons Peter, 31, and Frankie, 26, that “we have to be out of our apartment in 15 days.”

But things aren’t what they appear, according to Alexia. Addressing de Moura’s claims of financial insecurity, Alexia tells  that her fellow Housewife “made up a rumor,” suggesting de Maura is simply “trying to get back at me.”

“She can’t get over the fact that last season I genuinely, and with good intentions, told her that the guy that she was talking to could be married,” Alexia shares, “because that’s what Marysol [Patton] and people were saying!”

During season 5, Alexia accused de Moura’s then-boyfriend of still being married, alleging that she’d seen documents proving the fact. However, Alexia failed to fully read the documents, and at costar Nicole Martin and her fiancé Anthony Lopez ‘s engagement party, de Moura’s man pulled out his final divorce decree for Alexia and asked her if she could “read.”

“I know what she’s doing this season,” Alexia continues. “She’s trying to show me a lesson, ‘Well, you know the same way you made up a rumor about my boyfriend. Well, I can make up a rumor about your husband.’ “

“Some women they’re going to go after you forever. They don’t forgive,” adds Alexia. “First they started with the rumor that I was having marital problems because Todd didn’t show up to one party. And that went nowhere, obviously, so they made up the rumor that we were moving because of financial problems. It’s ridiculous. [Our exit] had nothing to do with that.”

So why did the Nepolas have to move out? Well according to Alexia, the change in address was simply a case of a real estate deal.

“They sold our unit, unfortunately, so we had 30 days — less than 30 days, actually — to find another place and move out,” Alexia says. “That’s the thing that sucks about being a renter, it’s out of your hands sometimes.”

And while Nepola notes that her new place is “beautiful,” she says the couple is “paying so much more and have less space.”

“That’s why these claims that we were bork didn’t even make any sense because we’re paying more rent now than we did before!” Alexia jokes.

That won’t be the case for long. “We’ll be looking for something that works better for us,” she tells. “And we’re going to probably buy something instead of just renting like we usually do, which is my husband’s business. For him it makes more financial sense to rent than to buy, but for his wife, it makes more mental sense to not have to move every two or three years or whenever they sell the unit. So we’re going to probably look for something for buy.”

Alexia also isn’t letting the rumors get to her, admitting that she and her husband are finding humor at the speculation. “I’m just laughing it off because it has no truth to it,” she says. “I mean, if it did, then maybe I would be upset about it. But Todd and I are just laughing all the way to the bank because truthfully, and luckily, it’s not the case.”
