Robyn Brown, one of the stars of the reality TV show “Sister Wives,” made a joke to her former sister wife Meri Brown that didn’t sit well with her husband, Kody Brown. During the final part of the “Sister Wives Talk Back” special, which aired on Friday, Robyn joked to Meri that “you never know if Kody and I are going to stay together,” resulting in both women erupting in laughter over the possibility. However, Kody, who is 54 years old, remained unamused by the joke. Robyn, 45, apologized at the time for her comments.

Robyn Brown made a nervous face as she tried to peep her spouse’s reaction from the corner of her eye while Kody sat seemingly emotionless while slumped onto the couch. Placing her hand on Kody’s thigh, Robyn acknowledged how “that was really rotten” of her to do. However, Kody looked at her and turned away.
“We have no idea what the future holds,” said Robyn, who also noted in the flashback that she had grown “tired” of “constantly” being lumped in with Kody during family disagreements.
Janelle Brown, who ended her own marriage with Kody last year, noted that Robyn “will get half or more of what Kody has if they divorce” because they are legally married. Kody had only been spiritually married to his three former wives, though Meri legally divorced Kody in 2014 so he could officially marry Robyn and adopt her children. Third wife Christine Brown left her spiritual marriage to Kody in November 2021, triggering a 14-month “domino effect” that left Robyn as Kody’s sole remaining wife.
In the “Sister Wives Talk Back” special, Meri and her best friend Jenn Sullivan discussed their frustrations with Robyn Brown. During the episode, Robyn was shown crying when Meri chose to not renew her Arizona lease and end her marriage to Kody. Jenn expressed her confusion about why Robyn was so upset by Meri’s decision and why it mattered. She added that Meri had been trying to build a relationship with Robyn, but every time she tried, she was constantly disappointed.
Meri Brown, who has previously spoken about her friendship issues with Robyn Brown, appeared to be upset as she looked downward. However, she agreed with her friend, Jenn Sullivan, who also added that Robyn’s hope for the plural family to come back together again was “kind of selfish”.
“Even though she wanted it, there was nothing for you,” Jenn said. “So, I’m really struggling with that. She’s entitled to her feelings but I just struggle with she’s upset that you’re doing something good for you”.
To that, Meri said, “I would assume that she has a lot of mixed emotions surrounding it. Honestly, I think that she wants me to be happy and also wants that to include her and the family. I have no doubt that she’s got a lot of mixed feelings about it”.
