Kody Brown has no intentions of reconciling with his second wife Janelle Brown.
In a teaser for next week’s Sister Wives: One on One Special, the reality star, 54, admitted he had no desire to reconnect with his ex wife, also 54, following their separation last year.
“I was thinking to myself, I don’t ever want to talk to Janelle again,” he tells moderator Sukanya Krishnan while Robyn Brown pleads in another scene. “You have six kids, that’s worth fighting for.”
In terms of his first wife Meri Brown, Kody admits he “told her I loved her and I chose to love her” before the downfall of their relationship.
Janelle and Christine Brown later claim that Kody can answer for what went down in their marriages as a “grown man,” before he refers to two unspecified wives and their comments. “They’re trash talking me because I’m guilty of not loving them.”
Though Kody’s admission suggest his relationships with Janelle, Meri and Christine are past the point of no return, Robyn previously told about her hopes of reconciling with her former sister wives.
While collective harmony and reconciliation seem like a lofty goal, Robyn shared that she believes it’s still “possible” for everyone to remain a “family.”
“It looks a little different,” she said of the family’s current dynamics. “I sure hope it’s possible, but I can’t have expectations. I can’t put expectations on people, I’m realizing more and more, as far as family and that connection and spending time together and stuff and operating kind of a family. So I hope and I pray that it’s possible, but that will be that a situation where everybody has to choose that. So I don’t know.”
Within a span of 14 months, three of the Sister Wives patriarch’s marriages imploded. Kody’s third wife, Christine, was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later in December 2022, it was revealed that he had separated from Janelle.
“Kody and I have separated and I’m happy, really happy,” Janelle told Sukanya in last year’s Sister Wives: One on One special. “I don’t know, things just really became sort of indifferent, like I just didn’t care anymore.”
Janelle also said that she was “not waiting” for a possible reconciliation with Kody. “I’ve kind of mourned that that part of our life is gone,” she shared. “I wasn’t heartbroken. It wasn’t heartbreaking for me like it was for Christine [Brown]. It was just kind of like, I just mourned that that life was gone…. We had this great run.”
A month after that, his union with Meri was confirmed in January after the pair’s relationship had been platonic and distant for years.
Since her split from Kody, Janelle has been documenting her “independent woman” summer on social media and sharing motivational messages with her followers.
Kody and Janelle reunited for daughter Savanah’s high school graduation in May. The former pair share children Logan, 29, Madison, 27, Hunter, 26, Garrison, 24, and Gabriel, 21.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
