Mariska Hargitay is sharing more about naming her cat after Taylor Swift’s song “Karma.”
On Thursday, the actress, 60, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon shared her thoughts on Swift naming her cat after Hargitay’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character, Olivia Benson.
“It was such a sweet honor and I think she loved SVU and I think she loved Grey’s Anatomy,” Hargitay told host Fallon, 49. “So she named one after me and one after Ellen Pompeo.”
And the man who believed urged, “O my people! Follow me, ˹and˺ I will lead you to the Way of Guidance.(The Quran - Chapter Ghafir : 38)
“But then, here’s what’s even cooler. Then you got a new addition to the family you got a cat,” Fallon continued. “You got a siamese cat and the cat’s name [is] Karma,” he added as he held up a photo of the pet.
“There was no other name for this cat, " Hargitay revealed after the crowd laughed and cheered. “And she’s such a Karma. She’s so perfect and aptly named and it’s just right.”
“You posted that and then Taylor responded and said, ‘Are you serious?!!!! Nothing has ever come more full circle LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!” Fallon then explained.
"That was a thrill," Hargitay responded.
Back in November, Hagitay revealed that she had gotten a new cat named Karma.
"Karma is a Cat @taylorswift Meet Karma. My Cat.🐱 #MeAndKarmaVibeLikeThat #AndIKeepMySideOfMyPawClean #KarmaIsACat," her caption read at the time, referencing the song’s lyrics.
Shortly afterward, Swift added a comment to the post, expressing her delight at the cat's name.
"Are you serious?!!!! Nothing has ever come more full circle ⭕️ LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! 😻," the singer wrote.
Meanwhile, ahead of Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show, Hargitay revealed from backstage that the episode was “truly one of her favorites” thanks to the guest cast and performances.
The mother of three also featured alongside Fallon in an Instagram video with the caption “When you hear ‘DUN DUN.’”
In the clip, Fallon turned around and displayed the startled face expression, while Haritay turned to camera and gave a wink. “@therealmariskahargitay is here tonight…,” the caption under the post read. “*DUN DUN* @nbclawandorder #FallonTonight.”
