WWE Star Brandi Rhodes Emotional Journey of Endometriosis

"I kept looking until I found the solution," Brandi Rhodes said, recalling her medical experience.

Brandi Rhodes, a former WWE star, recently disclosed that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis after doctors dismissed her complaints for three years.

The 40-year-old professional wrestler revealed TODAY that she encountered a lot of "inner pain" after her pregnancy with daughter Liberty.

"It felt like whatever inside, either it was an ovary or my uterus, was frequently irritated and aggravated," she said.

Initially, Rhodes' doctor reassured her that her suffering was normal for women and would go away after labor. However, the pain remained even after she delivered birth in June 2021.

Despite trying pelvic floor therapy and consulting multiple specialists over three years, Rhodes found little relief. Her symptoms included irregular menstrual cycles, heavy periods, and severe bloating.

"Some days, I'd wake up and feel usual, thereby seeing my abs," she recalled, "but on other days, I'd wake up feeling three months pregnant."

Frustrated, Rhodes sought another doctor, who dismissed her concerns without much inquiry.

After being referred to a dietitian and a digestive specialist, who both misdiagnosed her with a condition known as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Rhodes became discouraged and began to suspect the problem was psychological.

"That feeling of defeat really damaged me," she acknowledged, questioning her abilities to help others improve their health.

Rhodes found renewed motivation when fellow wrestler Maryse Mizanin shared her health struggles on social media, revealing a diagnosis of a rare pre-cancer of the ovaries after being dismissed by numerous doctors.

"Seeing her story ignited a fire in me," Rhodes said.

She sought another physician who performed a basic pelvic check and instantly suspected endometriosis, a disorder where tissue from the womb grows outside the uterus, causing extreme pain.

"It's been three years. Why did it take so long?" she exclaimed, expressing her relief and frustration to her husband, Cody Rhodes. "I knew something was wrong. I felt so dismissed in so many ways... This is so wrong."

After her stage four endometriosis diagnosis was confirmed, Rhodes underwent surgery to remove the endometrial tissue. She is now recovering and aims to advocate for women facing similar issues.

"It can feel very discouraging, making you second guess yourself and feel at fault. But it's not your fault," she emphasized. "You just haven't met the right professional yet."

On May 22, Rhodes shared a photo on Instagram of her hand with an IV, briefly detailing her endometriosis journey.

"If Maryse hadn't shared her story, I would still be managing this pain alone," she wrote. "Someone needed to see that I kept searching until I found an answer, and now they know there's an answer out there for them too."

"Women, we have to advocate for ourselves and our bodies," she continued. "It's too common to be dismissed in the medical world when it comes to women's health issues. Don't be dismissed. ❤️"

Rhodes joins other celebrities like Bindi Irwin, Lena Dunham, Halsey, Julianne Hough, Amy Schumer, and Padma Lakshmi, who have openly discussed their battles with endometriosis.

The Quran - Chapter An-Najm : 34

and ˹initially˺ paid a little ˹for his salvation˺, and then stopped?

وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰ (and gave a little, and stopped? ...53:34) The word akda is derived from kudyah which refers to a hard or stony piece of ground or clod that appears in the course of digging a well or a trench. As a result, the digger cannot dig any further.

Thus the meaning of the verse is that at first he gave a little, then he stopped giving. In view of the incident narrated under the heading of "Background of Revelation", the meaning is quite clear.

[ For the person in that incident paid a little amount and then stopped payment.] Apart from this meaning, Sayyidna Mujahid, Said Ibn Jubair, ` Ikrimah, Qatadah and others interpret this word to imply that a person spent a little in Allah's way, then stopped it; or at first he was somewhat inclined towards Allah's obedience, and he obeyed Him for a while, and then gave it up [ vide Ibn Kathir ].
