Daisy Kelliher shared the distressing news that her sister, Bonnie, was severely injured in a moped accident and described it as a "miracle" that she's alive.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star, 37, took to Instagram on June 19 to reveal that Bonnie had been hospitalized for over two weeks following the accident, which occurred during her vacation in Thailand.

"Without delving into too many details, she has undergone several surgeries on her chest, face, and brain, including two emergency surgeries—one immediately after the accident and another over the weekend—and a 12-hour surgery last week," Kelliher explained. "She was discharged from the ICU over the weekend and is now in a regular room, facing at least another two weeks in the hospital, if not longer."

Kelliher mentioned that she had arrived in Thailand a few days prior to support her sister and parents, describing the situation as "quite an ordeal."

"As I sit by her side on her 34th birthday, it's a miracle she's alive given the extent of her injuries. We remain hopeful and positive that she will make a full recovery with time," she wrote.

Kelliher also took the opportunity to advise her followers against riding mopeds without a helmet or insurance. She noted that her family had seen many others in the hospital who weren't as fortunate as Bonnie.

She emphasized the importance of looking out for friends. "If it hadn’t been for Bonnie’s friend, whom she met out here, things could have been different. Her friend realized Bonnie didn't come home, found her in the hospital (as she had no phone), and was able to contact us. Her quick actions were a huge support to my family," she said.

Kelliher praised the hospital staff, saying, "Bonnie is in a fantastic hospital, and the staff have been incredible. There's a long road to recovery ahead, but we've received immense support. By sharing this story, we hope to prevent others from experiencing something similar. We can't believe how close we came to losing her."

"We love you, Bonnie. Happy birthday 🥳," Kelliher concluded.
