Jagged Edge's Brandon Casey, aged 48, recently revealed that he spent five days in the ICU following a severe car accident that left him with multiple injuries.
On July 16, Casey posted a photo of his hospital chart on Instagram, detailing the extent of his injuries, which included a broken neck, broken ribs, a skull fracture, and scalp lacerations. He is currently recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
In his Instagram caption, Casey expressed his deep gratitude to the staff at Grady Memorial Hospital. "I want to give a huge thank you to @grady.hospital. After being in the ICU for five days, I know now that the legendary Grady Trauma Center is everything it's reputed to be—the best in the country. You all saved my life, and I am forever grateful," he wrote. "I am so thankful to all the ladies who took care of me, who nursed me, fed me, and encouraged me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, the most sincere thank you I can conjure up."
Addressing his followers' concerns, Casey continued, "I know people want to know, so here it is: Broken neck, five broken ribs, skull fracture, scalp lacerations, and a lot of pain all over my body. But I will be okay, I promise you all. God has me. It's like something is trying to take me off this planet, and God keeps saying, 'No, not him, not yet.' All praises to the most high, most awesome, most wonderful God. Thank you, Lord!!!! From your loyal soldier 🫡🙏🏾🦾👑."
In a subsequent Instagram post, Casey shared an image of his wrecked car, acknowledging his fortune in surviving the crash. "I never post these types of pictures when sharing news of my injuries because those who love me worry about me, and I don't want to add to their fear. But I'm posting this just so you know neither wreck was a fender bender," he said. "I could be, probably should be, dead 🫡🙏🏾🦾 except for the big fact that God protects his flock 🦾."
The comments section was flooded with well wishes from fans and fellow celebrities.
This incident marks Casey's second major car crash in less than a year. In September 2023, he shared a photo on Instagram of his totaled car from another serious accident. "When you know God got you through it, you gotta say thank you, you gotta feel gratitude, not just speak it. Thank you, Father. I know I wouldn't be here without your grace and mercy," he wrote at the time. "I'll probably never be the same, but I'm so grateful I'm here. Thank you, Jesus!!!!"
