Joey King recently opened up about her struggles with perioral dermatitis in a TikTok video posted on July 16. The 24-year-old actress shared her skincare routine and frustrations with the skin condition, which she has been dealing with for the past seven months.
While dermaplaning her face with a small razor, King explained that she had been using prescription treatments but decided to stop them in hopes of resolving the condition naturally. "I just stopped it like a week ago, I started using my other skincare, and you can't really see it right now, but it's coming back. And I have literally no idea what to do about it," she said.
She captioned the post, "Any tips for the dermatitis would be greatly appreciated."

Followers quickly offered advice. One user recommended fragrance-free products and consulting a dermatologist. King responded, "Yes :( I switched to Vanicream before seeing a derm. And I got put on some topical prescriptions and they work great but I was told to wean myself off. And now that I am... it's coming back."
Others pointed out that dermaplaning might be contributing to her condition. "I have dermatitis and the worst thing I can do is dermaplane... so I would recommend stopping with that," one user suggested.
Earlier this year, Hailey Bieber also shared her experience with perioral dermatitis on TikTok. The 27-year-old founder of Rhode described the condition as “resembling acne or rosacea” with “tiny red bumps that form on the lower half of the face around the nose and mouth.”
Bieber revealed that she has dealt with the condition since she was about 19 or 20 and shared her go-to treatments during flare-ups, including a prescription Azelaic Acid cream and her brand's Glazing Milk, which she says is “super gentle” and helps “calm the skin.”
