Queens of the Stone Age Announced to Cancel European Tour Dates For Josh Homme's Emergency Surgery

"Queens are devastated," the band conveyed via social media on Monday, July 9.

Queens of the Stone Age's leading man, Josh Homme, requires urgent surgical intervention.

On Tuesday, July 9, the band disclosed on social platforms that they are compelled to annul eight performances in Europe this month.

"Queens are heartbroken that we can't perform for you," the musicians penned in the post. "We apologize for any inconvenience and share in your frustration and disappointment."

Accompanying the caption, Queens of the Stone Age included a message stating, "QOTSA regretfully announces that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue."

After listing the eight canceled dates, the "Mosquito Song" ensemble advised festival ticket holders to "visit the specific festival website for updated information."

"Ticket holders for headline shows will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with further information," they concluded.

In a June 2023 interview with Revolver Magazine, Homme, 51, revealed his cancer diagnosis from the previous year. However, he refrained from delving into specifics, merely stating he underwent a successful operation to remove it.

"I never say it can't get any worse. I never say that, and I wouldn't advise it. But I do say it can get better," he expressed to the publication.

Homme continued, "Cancer is just the cherry on top of an intriguing time period, you know? I'm exceedingly grateful that I'll get through this, and I'll look back at this as something that’s messed up — but will have made me better. I'm fine with that. There's a multitude of things I want to do. And there are many people I want to do them with."

The Quran - Chapter Al-Mujadila : 07

Do you not see that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth? If three converse privately, He is their fourth. If five, He is their sixth. Whether fewer or more, He is with them wherever they may be. Then, on the Day of Judgment, He will inform them of what they have done. Surely Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.
