"They always look out for me and my health," Adam Sandler shared at the New York City premiere of "Adam Sandler: Love You" on August 20th.
Adam Sandler's daughters are deeply invested in his well-being.
During an exclusive interview at the premiere of his Netflix comedy special, the 57-year-old comedian revealed that his daughters, Sadie, 18, and Sunny, 15, are always encouraging him to prioritize his health.
"They're always looking out for me, just like I used to do with my dad," Sandler remarked. "You think, ‘I want this guy to be around for a long time,’ so I used to nag my dad to quit smoking, and now my kids are on my case to relax more and eat like a normal person."
Sandler’s comments follow a recent revelation he made on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast earlier this month, where he shared that Sadie had suggested he reconnect with the trainer he worked with during the filming of his 2008 movie "You Don't Mess with the Zohan".
"I used to be so serious about working out... but now I just can't f-----g do it," Sandler confessed. "I play basketball, and then I eat. Every time I’m eating, I’m thinking, 'What are you doing, man? You don’t need to do this.' But I can’t stop—I've just got a bit of extra weight everywhere."
"It's so f-----g tough now," he added, speaking about staying in shape. "Sadie keeps telling me, 'Dad, get the trainer from "Zohan" back. Why would you ever stop? Why did you give it up?' And I tell her, 'It's a lot of work.'"
"I just can’t get back into that routine," Sandler admitted. "She’s right about everything, but I don’t make any promises. I just say, 'Let me think about it; that’s a good idea.'"
Sandler, who shares Sadie and Sunny with his wife Jackie Sandler, was joined by her at the premiere.
Earlier in February, Sandler had told that he and Jackie, 49, encourage their daughters—both aspiring actors—to learn from Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan by watching her performances.
"Our kids want to be actors. And we tell them, 'Well, watch Carey,'" he said, referring to his "Spaceman" co-star, 39.
