Channing Tatum recently revealed that he had a rough experience after swallowing pool water during a party in Mexico, resulting in a day spent in the bathroom.
While promoting their psychological thriller "Blink Twice", Tatum and his fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, shared the story with Buzzfeed. The film, which marks Kravitz’s directorial debut, was filmed in Mexico and has received positive comparisons to the hit movie "Get Out".
"Remember that party, Chan? You and [costar] Simon [Rex] were wrestling in the pool, and you both ended up swallowing pool water," Kravitz, 35, recalled. "And you were puking."
Tatum, 44, added with a blank expression, "For 12 hours, I couldn’t leave the bathroom."
He then mentioned that a doctor had to administer "a shot in the butt to make it all okay."
Kravitz, laughing, quipped, "It was a sick party."
One commenter speculated that Tatum might have experienced Montezuma’s Revenge, a common term for traveler’s diarrhea. According to the University of Indiana, this condition often results from consuming food or water contaminated with bacteria or viruses.
Symptoms can include diarrhea, cramps, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and fever, with the severity varying from case to case.
As noted by Fodor’s travel guide, when in Mexico, it’s important to avoid drinking tap water or ice made from it. Mexicans themselves largely consume bottled water, with eight in ten choosing bottled over tap water.
Although it’s unclear what exactly was in the "shot in the butt" Tatum received, the Mayo Clinic explains that certain injectable medications can help relieve nausea or vomiting. For more severe symptoms, including high fever or the presence of blood, pus, or mucus in stools, a doctor might prescribe antibiotics.
The Quran - Chapter Al-Mulk : 16 - 17
Do you feel secure that the One Who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you up as it quakes violently?
Or do you feel secure that the One Who is in heaven will not unleash upon you a storm of stones. Only then would you know how ˹serious˺ My warning was!
